This A- list mostly television actor from a long running hit network show is a celebrity offspring. He also brutally beat an escort just before Christmas last year and wrote a very big check.
Also no "long running hit network show" for Eastwood. What would be the show for Caan? Hawaii 5-0--is the remake even still on, let alone a hit? Keifer Sutherland?
Escorts can get beaten for being gay (after the person uses them for gay stuff) due to self-hatred or escorts can be beaten for asking to get paid or escorts can be beaten for fun which is really sad but not super uncommon. I can't really think of any other reasons.

I've seen the Hawaii 5-0 reboot and Scott Caan and the other lead actor have zero chemistry. Caan does this thing where he self-consciously waves his hands and arms around when he's speaking that he thinks equals good acting. It's cringe worthy.
@Count, the funny thing is, the blind doesn't rule out the possibility that it was negotiated beforehand, and the large check was simply the agreed-upon payment.
