Apparently some people behind the scenes promised a very large donation or two to a reelection campaign and a "foundation" controlled by the decision maker. If charges had been brought, our mogul would likely have had to testify and no one who has their hands out for donations in any profession wanted to see that happen. Money always seems to win.

I think he was looking at doing an Epstein, threaten to release some of his blackmail files if he isn't cut a deal. So who knows what's really going on. Maybe this is all a show and he's already worked it out, light sentence in a Fed hotel for a couple of years in return for 'cooperating' with the FBI. Or maybe this time it's real, time will tell.
