I haven't thought about this in a long time and then someone reminded me of it. See, if you remember it or if you can figure it out. Back in the day this actor was an A list tween on a hit network show. Later, he became an A- list television actor who progressed into made for tv movie acting. Anyway, back when he was still a tween on that show of his, he hooked up with this permanent A list singer, who at the time no one had heard of. It is crazy if you think about them hooking up.

ReplyDeleteHaha yeah. Only because I had been discussing Sliver Spoons with a friend a few days prior (that's how big of an 80s geek I am), and this specific episode came up. So it was in my head.

ReplyDeleteSo a 20+ year old woman ‘hooking up’ with a tween boy? I think the comments would be very different on here if it was a tween girl and an adult male. I consider tween to be 10-12 and hooking up as sex...hope this really has been embellished by Enty.

Delete@Eve, it's irrelevant whether the "power dynamic" is equal to the reverse case. An adult is an adult, including an adult woman, unless you want to argue that women aren't responsible for their actions.

Had a pal who did background on Silver Spoons. The Ricker was in a constant hunt for poontang. His line was "Wanting to lose his virginity" to the older girls who looked young enough to play school age. Word is he was relentless. Got turned down a lot. Kinda silly.

ReplyDeleteI understand what all of you are saying, if all things were equal. Fact is, at that time, Ricky would have had more power in this situation at 15 on a hit show than a 22 year old Whitney who was just beginning to record. So, all things are not considered equal.
