  1. I've written a pilot based on my experiences working the front desk at a 1-star hotel. I've started a blog to promote it and I plan to post excerpts from the scripts.

First post is actually from something else I was working on. But the excerpts are coming this weekend.

  5. THIS BOOK WINS WARS

    https://www.amazon.com/Guban-Abdi-Latif-Ega/dp/1475276427/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1528477793&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=guban

A volcanic mountain range in the northeastern part of Somalia, Guban is also a name given to the surrounding habitat by Somali nomads. Literally translating to "burnt" in English, Abdi Latif Ega uses it as a metaphor for the entire nation and its people. In the world of Guban there is a parade of human characters wielding and being wielded by their societal circumstances and individual proclivities. Set against the backdrop of East Africa, the novel explores the clash of modernity, urban civilization and the traditional, more egalitarian life of pastorialists, that still populate the region. A truly kaleidoscopic tale of the Somali revolution, the novel deftly interlocks stories of all strata of society-interlopers, interlocutors, diplomats, camel herders, revolutionaries, military personnel, and clan leaders, to name but a few. Documenting both the brutality of the national dictatorship and the international pressures of this cold war driven world. Guban brings together the immediacy of journalistic reportage with the imaginative expansiveness of the novel.

Every year thousands of naΓ―ve young women arrive in Los Angeles, full of ambition and dreams of stardom. Few realize that there is a steep price of admission into the club that involves flesh, blood, and large chunks of soul. Ashley Duncan flees her small Kansas hometown and family farm to pursue the Hollywood dream. She takes a crash course on how to succeed in Tinseltown, trading on her looks and sexuality. An agent she meets sums it up this way, “I’ll be honest with you, Ashley. You have the look that we’re looking for. You definitely have the look, but a lot of girls have that. A lot of girls have talent. The question is, do you have everything else it takes? Do you have the temperament, the guile, the cajones, to do what it takes?” Ashley decides early on, she will do whatever is necessary. Things get more complicated when Ashley’s high school sweetheart, Brady, arrives in LA, in a desperate attempt to win her back. Ashley and Brady don’t realize it, but they are now guests of that infamous California hotel, where you can check out, but you can never leave.

  22. Reading Mindhunter by John Douglas. Reading it for two reasons- it's now a Netflix show and also because I knew his wife, Pam. She was the reading specialist at the school I taught at. The stories she told me of what they went through... when his daughter brought a date to their house, he would make the poor kid drink from a glass cup and he would put it into a baggie as evidence incase she never came home. Imagine having to think like that all the time... great book.

Please support your local Trap/Neuter/ Return organization, if there is one in your area.
Make a small donation; or offer to transport cats once a month.
We perform an important service by safely controlling the feral cat population. The cats are neutered and returned to their habitat.
Feral kittens suffer terribly from parasites, which they are too small to fight off. Their chances of survival are minimal.

    thank you

  51. It has totally eliminated my night sweats and hot flashes. I actually bought my second month supply but, for some reason, skipped a week taking the supplement. My night sweats came back, I had a hot flash in the middle of the afternoon and then I realized I was a little more weepy (mood at that time). My husband asked if I was taking the product and I realized I had been about a week without. I started taking it immediately, AND I am sleeping well at a constant body temperature throughout the night and day!
