Blind Items Revealed #3

January 30, 2018

There is a big fight going on right now between the members of this one named band who play a lot of easy to listen, never offensive music with a string of hits and big selling records. They are in the midst of the tour and the lead singer has threatened to walk. He says he is the band and the rest are just musicians so they need to give him 75% of the earnings of the group.

Train

  4. Fucking hate Train, Monahan in particular. I knew this was them.
*Although they were technically not touring at the time of this blind*

  6. I fucking hate Train so I hope they break up

  7. The rest of Train should grab Axl Rose

  8. Pretty much every band that last share the money equally. I remember this as one of the reasons the pixies originally broke up, charles wanted all the $$$'s.

  9. What a joke, he once said compromise was the secret to a lasting career in music. Turns out he meant f*cking over your band members. I'd say enjoy your county fairs, but that would be an insult to county fairs.

  10. I was listening this morning to their 2016 appearance on Stern. They sounded so happy together.

  13. He's right. It's his voice that people like. He's do fine on his own. They'd disappear.

  14. I saw them open for matchbox 20 (whom are the greatest group of guys you will ever meet, BTW mb20 not train lol) about 15ish years ago and they were awful!

  15. I didn't know they were still a thing

  16. I have a couple of their albums and I liked them both, though I'd be hard-pressed to say the last time I listened to them.

They came around the same time as the Goo Goo Dolls, another hooky guitar band that I liked at the time but never listen to now.

Compared to the pop music forced upon us now, Train and Goo Goo Dolls sound like The Beatles, though.

  20. He IS the band. A band no one cares about. How long ago was Hey Soul Sister? They were literally the house band at Howard Stern’s birthday party

  21. This is one of my better efforts:

    Hey, Soul Sister
You got little blisters on your lips, you know.
    Down below.
Those herpes sores ain't rare fo' sho.
    Hey, Soul Sister,
I'm just gonna kiss you on the cheek and say...
    Good night

  23. He's not wrong, but that doesn't mean he's not an asshole.

  24. Fever dog, yeeesss!!

  25. He's not wrong but he's in a band. Just go solo if you think that's the best move. I wonder who has rights to their songs?

  26. I did like 50 Ways to Say Goodbye, but that's about it.

  27. Train actually did play the fair near me about 4-5 years ago. Loathe them. "Play that Song" is especially cringe-y, both the song and video.

Monahan is pretty vain, so anticipate lots of bad plastic surgery in the next few years.

  28. I watched the documentary on Journey when they hired their new singer (sorry can't remember his name.) Anyway, they told him that he was an official band member, and as such, received the same exact pay as the rest of the band members. Now I have no idea who owns the rights to their songs, but whatever, I thought that was pretty cool. They could have just said, hey, we will give you X amount of dollars and you're lucky to get the gig. But they didn't.

  29. The worst story I’ve ever heard about Train is that they stole the song that made them famous from another band and had to pay them off and made them sigh NDAs to get the money they deserved while Train walked away with a Grammy. Shitbags.
