Today's Blind Items - 18 And Done

Sometimes you lose track of people and their careers or you just don't talk to them as much as you used to and then get shocked when you do, by how much time has passed. Such is the case with this former A- list tween/teen actress who did multiple shows for both of the main kids' networks. She still isn't old enough to drink, but has been giving tips for so long that you forget how young she is and how long she has been in the business.

It had been a couple years since I heard anything from her or got any tips. I reached out though because I knew she worked with this hopefully about to be disgraced showrunner. I wanted to know if she had any stories about working with him and she didn't disappoint. It was a movie and animated and she says that all the adult actors never really even met with him during filming. They would speak on the phone and then the adults would go into a studio and do their thing and he would provide feedback or whatnot and tell them if they should do it again.

The kids though. That was a different story. She says that she had to go record her part only when he could also be there and he would sit right next to her or even have her sit in his lap so he could check her "inflection." Even as young as she was at the time and she was super young, she said it was creepy. She said she didn't know that only the kid actors had to go in to the studio with him until a few years later when she ran into an actress who was in her early teens when it was filmed and she said she also had to sit in his lap or across from him and that he would constantly touch himself through his pants while she was speaking and doing her part. He would rub himself against her and kept asking her if it was OK and if she liked it.

Our actress worked steadily she says until she was about 16. She knew what was what and went from one recurring or main role to the next. She says her mid teens were one guy after another wanting to have sex with her and the outfits they wanted her to wear. She says she was rarely allowed to wear a bra while filming and producers always told her if she wanted to keep getting roles she needed to be hot to not only teen guys but also to men of all ages. One of her shows she had to hook up with two executive producers, both of whom were married and also were former actors. They would alternate each day. She said she felt like a piece of meat.

As she moved into driving age territory, she got transferred from tween/teen type shows to the victimized daughter roles in television movies. This generally involved her being hit on by whatever actor was playing her dad. Yes, this includes this former A- list television actor who was married when he hooked up with her when she had just turned 18. She said once she turned 18 it was as if some timer had stopped and she couldn't get roles. She says producers and directors want the forbidden fruit of someone who is underage. She says now producers and directors don't want to give her roles but do want her on their arms and other places and she is trying to make it while living off some earnings and a new career that allows her to travel a lot and hoping to avoid yachting. Ideally she would love to keep acting and she has a massive fan base, but they follow her for sexy photographs and what they remember from her not that far in the past acting days rather than her current acting talent.

    2. It’s working now and boy is it spotty! Is it normal to be an exec producer on a mega hit show for only one episode? It’s pretty clear adults don’t like working with him.

In any case, I don’t think this one is him.

  4. @Montana, it's all of IMDB

  5. If this is Dan Harmon, the movie could be Monster House. He was a writer on that.

  9. Is this Spencer Locke? SHe was on Disney's Phil of THe Future and Nick's Ned Declassified and voiced a character on Monster House.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I was thinking Spencer Locke fit but who would be the other actress in her teens during filming?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I missed the part about where her parents were during all of this.

  12. If it's Dan Harmon and Monster House then I guess the actress must be Ryan Newman although I've never heard of her so am not sure about the A rating. Had shows on Disney and Nickelodeon, was 7 on Monster House and the older actress on the film was Spencer Locke?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Harmon was a writer on Monster House and Kung-Fu Panda (uncredited). I don't know how to tell whether a writer was also a showrunner or in position to make the demands described here. He's the obvious first guess for "about to be disgraced," but I'm not sure he fits. Those movies came before Community made him a somebody.

  14. Looks like Dan played Himself on Knight of Cups, interesting.

  15. I was thinking about Spencer too but what would the 'daughter roles' be?

  16. Ryan Newman was in a Sharknado episode with Ian Ziering when she was 18...

  18. Yep I think you got it @This Rebel Heart, Ryan Newman isn't yet drinking age she just turned 20. I totally failed to see that part which takes Spencer Locke out of the picture being 26.

  21. Isnt Dan Harmon already disgraced? The clue says "about to be disgraced"

  23. Lots of people want jobs where they can travel and not yacht.

However, some have to settle for going to college and learning a skill.

Is this girl just too pretty for that sort of common existence?

    ReplyDelete
  24. @gauloise, you would think that filming yourself pretending to rape a baby would count as "disgraced," wouldn't you? Unfortunately, no, in Hollywood, as long as you're on the right team, it takes more than that.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @J I thought the same thing. "Oh I hope I don't have to yacht...or lead a peasant life of learning a skill and earning money the slow way"

    ReplyDelete
  26. "See Dad Run" is the TB show where she was passed back and forth between producers who were former actors: Scott Baio and Patrick Labyorteaux.

    ReplyDelete
  27. OH SNAP, If this is Ryan Newman, than the former A-List Actor she slept with who played her dad when she was 16 would have been Scott Baio. Newman was on "See Dad Run" with Baio in 2014 when she was 16 and he was married.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The blind says she got transferred to "victimized daughter roles in television movies." That sounds like a bunch of them, but Ryan Newman has been in two, maximum: Sharknado 3 and Bad Sister. Surprisingly, I haven't seen either one, so I don't know what those roles were like. But I guess two movies is plural, if those both fit the description.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I’m getting so lazy if the blind is long I just go straight to the guesses to see who it might be and if it’s someone interesting then go back and read the blind.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Makes you think if the 'abused daughter' role is also a bit of a kink to these men. Sick world.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It looks like Ryan Newman's dad in her second TV movie (Bad Sister) was played by Robert Leeshock, whoever that is.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Can we just send Scott Baio away? Like to the cornfield with the other monsters? He pops up in way too many of these blinds.

    ReplyDelete
  33. See Dad Run is the show she had to alternate between the EPs one of whom was Scott Baio. Imagine that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Can someone tell me the dodgy stuff about Seth McFarlane? Didn't he out Harvey Weinstein at the Oscars? Thought he may be a good guy.....

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Brayson87, no, we need to keep Baio in the mix. If this stuff ever really blows up and Hollywood execs and stars are being exposed left and right, there will inevitably be claims that it's politically and/or religiously motivated. We need to be able to point to Baio and say, "Nope, that's a Republican and Christian right there, going down with the rest of them."

If he's guilty, of course, but that applies to all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah, Seth McFarlane has been exposing people through Family Guy for years, including SS. What terrible things has he done?

  38. Yuck, this is definitely the beautiful Ryan Newman.

I wondered why she had done pretty much nothing in recent years but post hot pictures on Instagram. Would love to see her in more.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Scott Baio (See Dad Run) and Ian Ziering (Sharknado 3&4) are among the abusers mentioned in this blind.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Seth McFarlane, "HOPEFULLY ABOUT TO BE DISGRACED SHOWRUNNER"?!? "It was a movie and animated"

What animated feature film has Seth McFarlane produced? I don't think the Family Guy TV takes on Star Wars count. This is about Dan Schneider IMO, who is yet to be (rightfully) disgraced.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Harmon only wrote Monster House, he didn't produce it, so probably not him. Screenwriters rarely get that kind of say. Also she would have been like 16 or 17 when she was filming it, so while that would still be insanely fucked up it feels like that's a little past "super young"

    ReplyDelete
  42. To be fair to Robert Leestock, since I mentioned his name: the blind says she "generally" got hit on by the dad actor in TV movies. It's possible that happened in Sharknado 3 & 4, and Bad Sister was an exception where that didn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think the Seth MacFarlane guess was one of those "I want it to be this guy" guesses. Maybe a Star Trek: Discovery fan who really hates The Orville.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Scott Baio is a flaming shitbag.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dan Schneider hasn't made any animated films

    ReplyDelete
  46. @pricksongs, check your math, Newman would have been about 7 during the filming of Monster House. But I was wondering the same thing: would a fairly inexperienced writer (at that point) have had the clout to sit in on recording sessions and give orders? If nothing else, you'd think a more powerful executive would have called dibs.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Cail wow I am stupid, read her birthday as 1988! so I guess yeah, would have been around 7. yikes. But yeah, he definitely did not have the clout at that point to be directing line readings.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maybe Harmon had it in his contract. Or maybe he had the blessing of the likeminded producer(s).
I'll let you scroll through the credits and take a guess who ok'd it...

    ReplyDelete
  49. @This Rebel Heart

    Bingo!

Ryan Newman was in the Thundermans. My kids loved that show, so can only assume she would have a steady fan base amongst what are now teens.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Sara, I see a name jumped out at you too. Just a coincidence, surely.

One thing about Monster House: apparently it was shot in motion capture, where the actors wore those outfits with sensors and acted out the scenes. That doesn't mean the dialogue couldn't have been done later in the studio, though.

  52. Yeah, I was being sarcastic, if it wasn't obvious. It made me wonder if there's something she's leaving out. Enty's "soon to be disgraced" assurances might have gotten her to loosen up about one person, but that doesn't mean she spilled everything.

  55. Just looked at her instagram. She is thisclose to yachting. Just saying. She is a pretty girl but maybe she should go to college and do something else with her life. The sickos should fry for abusing a kid. But as an adult, she has choices other than yachting.

    ReplyDelete
  56. With a million social media followers, she could make a decent living by starting a Patreon and saying, "Subscribe for a few bucks if you like my work." Do some vlogging or something, to come up with fresh exclusive content. She's apparently involved in some kind of overseas charity, so that would be a topic to talk about. Or pretend to like video games and get into streaming. People with far less of a fan base to start with make it work.

That would surely fall short of what she could earn as a movie star or a yachter in her prime, though.

    For insiders to laugh about.
People want to treat him like some kind of Crispin Glover "he was trying to warn us!" figure but he collects his paycheck and gets to hang out with Captain Picard and all his Star Trek heroes...

And in a time and place where you would expect him to come forward about why he keeps making jokes about Steven Spielberg raping Asian boys, well

    He doesn't

It might fuck with his money

Not talking conspiracy here, but it is common knowledge there is a pedo network with members famous and not. And they all cover for each other. I do have first hand knowledge of a situation where this happened, and it was/is heartbreaking and infuriating. Its how people like Jimmy Savile and Sandusky keep going as long as they do.

And as far as Hwood, we've had evidence of various individuals you wouldn't connect otherwise that allegedly have this pedo behavior in common. So we are just seeing now who some of these people are, and the Sallings of the world who know what they know are silenced forever. Its so despicable it has to stay on the lowest of the down low

  62. @Unknown, they're mysteries to solve. Agatha Christie novels are fiction, but lots of people enjoy trying to figure out whodunnit before the reveal. Trying to figure out who Enty means doesn't necessarily mean you *believe* every one. Heck, there are a couple reveals he did early this month that I'm pretty sure are nonsense, but I try to take every new blind at face value.

There's also what @Geeljire said. In the context of years of collecting data and putting the puzzle together, some new pieces just fit with what's already been observed.

  71. RYAN NEWMAN IMDB: Ryan Newman, up and coming "Young Hollywood" beauty, can recently be seen in eight episodes of the Nickelodeon hit series "The Thundermans" and Sharknado 4 coming this July. Newman got her start in print modeling but quickly caught the eye of casting for commercials, television and film. With her charming personality and comedic timing, Newman excelled in all the roles that she took on.

Newman made her feature film debut at the age of six years old alongside an all-star cast including Steve Buscemi, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kevin James and Nick Cannon in Columbia Pictures motion capture film "Monster House," where she earned the distinction of being the youngest actor ever to be motioned captured. Shortly after, she starred alongside Tim Allen, Courteney Cox, Chevy Chase and Kate Mara in Sony Picture's "Zoom." Most recently Newman portrayed 'Claudia Shepard,' daughter of Ian Ziering in "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" (summer 2015) and will next be seen in the independent features "Bad Sister" and "The Thinning." Newman is known for her lead role in the Nick at Nite series "See Dad Run" as 'Emily Hobbs,' the teenage daughter of Scott Baio and for the lead role of 'Ginger Falcone' in the Disney XD series "Zeke and Luther." She can also be seen in fan favorites "Hannah Montana," "Good Luck Charlie" and "Big Time Rush."

Newman won the 2010 Young Artist Award for 'Best Performance in a TV Series by a Leading Actress' edging out four other nominees including Miley Cyrus and Miranda Cosgrove. She has taken an active part in the fashion world several times attending New York Fashion Week for work and press. When she's not rehearsing and filming, Newman enjoys singing, dancing, playing the piano and guitar, following her favorite designers, Chanel, Valentino and Miu Miu, and studying. Ryan will soon be attending college while continuing to grow her acting and music career. She currently lives in Los Angeles.

  73. If it's Monster House and Dan Harmon, one thing is sure: Enty really regards you as dimwits. Not that it should come as a surprise, anyway.

There's an old joke about a particularly stupid starlet. She went to Hollywood and fucked the writer. Zing!
The joke was actually part of the plot for Bowfinger, when Heather Graham sleeps her way to the top, starting with the writer for "Chubby Rain".

Common writers, even the ones who get their names in the credits, have zero clout in studio productions. So, Harmon and Schrab came up with the idea, developed a first draft, then a zillion people rewrote it.
Dan Harmon actually explained as early as 2010 that he didn't have any control on the film beyond writing the early draft, which is the rule rather than the exception.

"I never finished writing Monster House before my bosses turned it into a movie. And then different writers, people I don’t even know, changed the story in lots of ways, and the movie that you saw was not the story I wanted to tell you."

    https://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/29/community-creator-writes-to-child-disses-spielberg-and-wins-our-hearts/

Of course, some cretin will notice that this quote comes from a reply Harmon made to a seven-year-old girl and scream "pedo!", while it was from a mail that Harmon sent to the mother of the kid, who is a Canadian writer.

Anyway, the idea that Harmon would have some control on the acting or even be invited to the recording sessions of lines he didn't have any input on anymore is just ridiculous.

Once again, this is a fabricated blind. Enty wanted to hit harder on Harmon, so he just browsed his IMDb entry, noticed his involvement in a kids movie at the start of his career, finds a child actor from the film that later had a career, and writes a story about pedophilia out of it. Enty has written a lot of blind items this way. This starts with the accusation, then he finds a plausible setting for all of it, and finally he fills it with imaginary details.
