DeleteI remember tmz (i think) reporting allegations of Brad being abusive (hitting I suppose) and one of the boys stood up to him and (allegedly) defended Angelina.
I also remember hearing the stories of her step-father raping her and the mother condoning it. With that in mind, her "screw loose" attitude no longer surprised me, but I never pegged her as the type to be procuring children for other people.
The media coverage (at least on tmz's end) has not really been in her favor. That entire situation sounds like a mess, I feel bad for her children...

1- I read "Unbroken." A good portion of the book was devoted to Louis Zamperini's struggle to make himself whole emotionally again, and how his Christian faith helped him get there. It's relegated to about five minutes in the movie.

2- I did finally see "A Wrinkle In Time," unfortunately, for free at a friend's house when they had a kids party and that was the DVD selection, which had already been made when I got there. I didn't pay that close attention, but it was horrid, we adults mostly mingled elsewhere, but even the kids were "meh."
But does that make it racist? No. Agreeing to direct a film of source material you've not read, with the sole motivating factor to change the race of the female protagonist, is racist. Removing the Christian themes of the source material is something else entirely, as well.

ReplyDeleteAngie ain't hard up for funds. She want's to project that image, since it's what her mother taught her so well in terms of trying to control Jon Voight, but it's far from the truth.
ReplyDeleteAng is now being harnessed by the courts so she is lashing out. Also, she misses being able to depend on Brad's connections (I'm telling ya'll they run deep) to get her shitting movies produced. No one in Hwood wants to deal with Angie. Her independent roles, outside her marriage, are down Kung Fu Panda and Maleficent. We'll see how many more of those are produced.
Another under-examined aspect of all this is how poorly Ang does if she doesn't have a man to clutch in public like some octopus vampire crossbreed. Brad tried really hard to make Ang stand on her own (look at the video on Dlisted to see how often he pushed her away in public) and give her personal credibility. Far be it from a screwed up kid (thanks Marcie!) like Ang to realize the value of that lesson. Now she is alone and besides taking the kids on the pap stroll to a toy store, her connections with any sort of friend or boyfriend or girlfriend are GONE.
Ang is naturally going to blame Brad for everything, just like her mother taught her.
How did Brad Pitt get to adulthood without anyone teaching him Angie is the kind of girl you bang, not the kind of girl you marry and have a family with? I can't have too much sympathy for him. He left a reasonably sane woman who put up with him for this drugged out trainwreck with a blood fetish and weird incest thing with her brother.
