Blind Items Revealed #3

August 7, 2018

Apparently that whole #MeToo thing only is relevant to this A list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee if it doesn't involve a paycheck. The actress, who has been a crusader of sorts in the movement has agreed to star in a film by a director who has assaulted multiple women, some of which for many years and has more assault charges from other people that are difficult to even tally because of the number. But hey, you do you.

Jessica Chastain/Matthew Newton

  2. She is rich and closeted so he won't attack her. The big pay cheque solves the moral dilemma.

    1. I didn't know. Was there a blind about her being closeted? I could see her being bi more gay.

  3. #metoo has the best leadership imaginable. Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, and this chick.

    Also genius Alyssa Milano.

  5. Didn't even know who she was before I came on this site, despite seeing her in several things. One of the least memorable actresses out there.

  6. I've always thought she was gorgeous in an authentic looking way - which is very rare in Hollywood.

This bums me out because I had thought she was the rational MeToo leader out of the crazy bunch, since instead of grabbing her own pitchfork after Matt Damon got all tongue tied she did come to his defense.

But this move of hers was indeed very hypocritical.

  7. Got her big break in the Deep State pro-torture Osama bin Laden capture myth movie, too. I have no use for her.

  8. What if...giving her too much credit here, maybe...She joined the film full on knowing and had a plan to trickle out these stories to get him to step down from the film? If she protested all the time, it would get a bit stale, so possibly a sly trick on her part to A: keep a job and B: make sure Newton got screwed.

  9. @DK, only one problem with your scenario- she is the producer of the movie so she actually did the hiring!

  10. Would you want to be part of a movement called "me too"?
    So clingy, needy, and whiny.
It was BS from the beginning. A showpiece to distract.
A real revolution is more affirmative. Like, SCREW YOU!
But there are so many people shouting that it gets drowned out.

  11. I had never heard of that director before, it is possible she didn't know about his personal issues until it got made public, because trashy blogs decided to drag her for working with him. Like we do back ground checks on everyone we work with.

  12. DDonna, her big break was The Help. That OBL film Zero Dark Thirty came out after.

    1. That was Bruce Dallas Howard in The Help. Not Jessica Chastain

    2. Just remembered she is in The Help. You’re right she was the blonde who had a miscarriage

  13. The term "Hollywood hypocrite" is a redundancy

  14. I stand corrected by hothotheat--"The Help" was indeed Chastain's breakout role, and I even liked her in it at the time.

Can't stand her now, though, especially after this.

  15. She lost me with the pro-torture movie.

  16. This smells like he was a sacrificial lamb, hired onto the project so they could dump him later on.and garner press... if they announce a woman director as his replacement it will be too perfect a story.

  19. chastain tweeted she won't work with woody allen

that didn't stop her attending his cannes premiere though ..

  20. Matthew's withdrawn from the movie now amid whines of "what does it take to find redemption"?

Not when you're still actively bashing women, that's for sure and certain.

  21. Wonder if Chastain signed on with the idea to push Newton out. If she did, it worked.
