Blind Item #6

This disgraced television host thinks current events at his former network are going to be the catalyst to allow him to return. The powers that be do want him back.

  1. jokes on him cuz his name is now used as slang/joke by staff for what's happening to Megyn Kelly

  2. They both deserve to disappear into oblivion.

  3. Is a sexual abuser really better than a racist? Megyn Kelly is atrocious but Lauer would not be an appropriate replacement?

  4. I see why Lauer thinks he can double down and push through - it seems to work for a lot of other people lately. Shame is dying.

  5. The network suits just wanted an excuse to offload her because they were paying her yoo much for no ratings.. (Am not condoning her stupidity.) The dishonesty of that is annoying since they allowed how many sexual predators like Lauer to run around for decades? NOW they suddenly have standards?

  6. It says the events at his network. . . And shit is going down at CBS since Les Moonves and Fager were ousted so I am going to say Rose just to be different

  7. Rose is clearly too ancient to be hosting anything anymore. Even before his ousting, something was rattling around in his noggin preventing complete coherency.

O'Reilly or Lauer, probably the later. Lauer knows he is gone, though, permanently gone. Enty is playing supposing here.

The networks act like there is a pool of 25 people to pull from for these jobs! There are literally thousands of people, make that tens of thousands, make that hundreds of thousands of people who could host a morning show and do as well if not better than Kelly and/or Lauer.

  9. NBC is the same network that replaced Trump with Schwarzenegger and thought it wasn't a lateral move.

  14. Most of my 48 years of work was spent in news, in the US and overseas. For some reason, and I never figured out why, news anchors (men & women) felt as if the Sun rose and set because of them. Arrogant, entitled, obnoxious, shallow, rude, drama queens, etc. Matt Lauer fit that mold oh so well. Bryant G was the worst I had to endure. Never worked with Lauer, thank Helen. Chet Huntley was moody but an incredible newsman and so professional! The most beloved by staff? Walter Cronkite of course. He was the most fun at Democratic and Republican Convention venues. Vividly remember the 1972 conventions in Miami! I was still living/working in London and came over with our film crew to cover it. Saw things I should never have seen! Wives don't come down until the final days. Need I say more? Was putting film in my camera behind the podium when Gloria Steinem walked up to me and said she needed my chair. She didn't ask the men sitting with me for theirs. Never forgot that. And the night Julie Christie arrived with Warren B. backstage and all the men and women reporters and staff went apes---! God they were a gorgeous couple! Those times are gone forever. The multi-million dollar salaries and insane perks for the on-air talent has ruined network news and turned the TV hosts into monsters. Megyn is the tip of the iceberg.

    1. +1 Boo

My theory about fameho news anchors/hosts is that they’re narcissists who signed up for the job because they wanted to be on camera on a daily basis.

Then they realise they’re just PRESENTING the news, but they’re not THE news (not to mention people who make THE news tend to be all sorts of awesome—that’s got to sting for a narcissist, it’s like they’re “always teh bridesmaid”, in a sense). 🤷🏻‍♀️

And that’s what screws up with their heads and get messy. Turns them into monsters.

Seriously, they’re the worst off camera.

  16. Meh. I stopped watching ‘Today’ show when they let Tamron Hall go. Boner move NBC. Heard she’s coming back with a talk show, so yay!

Great story, Ms. Boo. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  17. Who GAF what he thinks? His best thinking got him into this situation.

  18. Oh hell no! What will it take for NBC to finally get the memo that Lauer was only popular with them, not anyone else? Then again, they were stupid enough to hire a FauxNewsBot and pay her a ridiculous salary.

  19. Layer probably got on the phone immediately and said, “ Guys, I may be a pussy hound, but I’m no racist!”

  20. Nobody wants Matt Lauer back. Ever. Go away.

  21. Great story Boo. Thanks.

My theory is that when News stopped becoming it's own division and was classified as "Entertainment". It's been downhill ever since.

  22. Why would they want him back? That's messed up.

Although, hiring Kelly was a huge WTF, so, who knows?
