Blind Item #10

After reading the interview with this foreign born A list singer, I think he came across as a guy who wants to come out of the closet, but doesn't know how because his team wants him to do one thing and his heart is telling him another. He just is not good with beards and doesn't know what to do so it all looks fake. His team needs to realize that.

  1. +1 talking about it in Rolling Stones

  2. He said he feels like he constantly needs to be out with a girl in public or else people claim that he's gay

  3. Perhaps a trans beard would be more intuitive for him.

  5. @kfitz whether or not he is - I hope he's happy but in my experience men that feel they should expressly deny that they're gay doth protest too much. There are plenty of women willing to date him that don't need convinced by him parading around a yacht girl.

Either way it's very odd to discuss in an interview. To me it shows how far behind Hollywood is :/

  7. It is very gay having to "assume" a relationship with a woman. This is not something to "assume"... For me this is the biggest proof of his sexuality, since kendall jenner said that "boys are looking at pretty girls and not at her" we can not think that someone is gay for not dating, the way and what comes out mouth is proof

  8. Perhaps his team should try to butch him up a bit. Give him a man's haircut, let him grow some stubble, make sure he has beer at all times (he's past the drinking age in Canada).

  9. I don't know what they will do about his gayface?

  10. He's got a v cute Australian model bf. He's an identical twin and his twin models too. Apparently he paraded him around backstage at Victoria's Secret with nary a care in the world. Again isn't it sad that it's almost 2019 and pr teams would rather have talent appear as closet cases with internalized homophobia than the well adjusted gay ppl they are? And for what exactly? What is the point of it all? To cause Shawn Mendes' mental health to decline to the point where he's a nervous wreak who needs drugs or alcohol to function? Like the rest of the closet cases? Most of his fans would be totally fine with him being gay and out, it's just the old heterosexual men in suits aren't giving up control of the industry without a fight. Meh.

You must be delusional, old heteresexual men in suits in the music industry? That was 70 years ago.

  11. His fans wont mind but he certainly would lose a lot of the craziness young girls bring to the table in terms of fandom. 12, 13, 14 year old girls became hardcore fans of boys they can fantasy about and gay boys don't fit that category. Sure, they will buy the album, even the ticket to his concert but wont wait in hotel doors screaming his name. The music industry isn't homophobic the thing is really just about money and most of those artists are in the closet for financial gain. There's pink money but there's also straight money. Who will dream over gays superheros or teen singers besides gay boys?? They do it mostly for profit, has nothing to do with homophobia

  12. This is easy Shawn Mendes and yes he is gay. The kid in a toght spot his core audience are young straight women. Remember Ricky Martin a decade ago came out when no longer relevant. I will give Mendes some slack he is only 20 and he might still be confused about his sexuality. Music industry very homophobic some straight women very homophobic as well would reject him if he came out. Mendes contradicted himself in a previous interview he said Hailey Baldwin was just a friend now he lies about dating her. He will be out of the closet when he is no longer popular.

Sometimes the clothes do not fit the man!

  15. Surely someone who works p.r. for him would have had a word and trained him to answer the question without making him look like a total closest case? he practically just outed himself.

  16. If he is gay then that stupid STUPID traincrash of an interview just made it a hundred times harder for him to ever come out comfortably and securely in his own skin.

Now he's going to be mocked, ridiculed for sounding weak and using women to cover for him, called homophobic, and assumed to be terrified of his own shadow. I dunno who advises these young men but they need to fire them and get a PR team that's in touch with reality.

I have no interest in his music and its not my cup of tea but I do feel sorry for him because that interview was a shitefest. The weed part was a clear attempt to James Dean him up and the 'miss me with the gay shit' was cringeworthy to say the least. And he will have to live up to that. Fine if he is straight but if he's not...he's pretty much shot himself in the foot.

  17. Bearding: the most underrated job ever. It's not a simple and you need a special to do the job convincingly. Also, it doesn't pay well enough. I think I'm going to start a bearding school and agency that will run efficiently.

  18. Oh, please. Young, straight teenage girls have been fetishizing gays for YEARS. If he does have a cute boyfriend who is out or willing to come out, the majority of his fans would love it and start writing creepy R-rated fanfiction.
Ricky Martin isn't relevant because he doesn't do anything anymore. It's not because he's a bender.
