Blind Item #5

Usually by now, the scary low demand ticket sales begin to rise for this permanent A list "singer." It isn't happening though. The casino will make sure not to have her look bad and will make sure every show is sold out, but they won't do it again for another run so this might be it for the residency.

  1. She came back too quickly, and has to compete with Gaga and Aerosmith (if Joe Perry recovers). She should have waited another year or two.

I see she'll be co-headlining some shows in Vegas with Robbie Williams.

  2. Britney should be tired, the girl needs a break from being on stage nightly.

  3. Daddy wants money and is getting old so no time for waiting.

  4. Britney. You're going to hear soon Gwen Stefani can't sell tickets too.

  5. this is my opinion, i have no facts on the subject.

i live in vegas and am a local. i do realize that low ticket sales is a reflection on the performer. i for one, would not go see britney or j-lo.

the locals are spending their money on the golden knights and going to hockey games instead of shows.

prices have increased so much on the strip (parking fees, celebrity restaurants, resort fees...) that money is tight and I think low ticket sales are based on frugality.

but i also agree some of the acts suck

  6. Thanks, Dave. I think the first time Britney played Vegas it also had that once-in-a-lifetime feeling, which it doesn't have any more.

The first time the original Guns n' Roses lineup got back together I was like, gotta get a babysitter, gotta get tickets, it's my only chance. Then they came back the next year. Oh well.

I assume the same will be true of the One Direction reunion whenever it comes around, with or without Zayn.

  8. The great performers that I would have liked to have seen in Vegas (Prince and Michael Jackson) are gone, so there really isn't anyone or any group I would pay to go see. Maybe Coldplay, The Rolling Stones or U2 but they aren't the type of bands to do residencies so, meh to the whole thing. Vegas is fun for one or two nights. A little gambling, nice dinners out, walking around seeing the sites then I'm tired of all the smoke, noise and the whole scene.

    1. The Stones are fucking fantastic live. I don’t know what drugs Mick is smoking these days, but he’s still dancing around for 2 hours straight in leather pants and no shirt like a maniac. Every other performer his age is sitting down or taking long breaks between songs.

  9. My Dad and I saw Sonny and Cher at the old Sahara Hotel back in the early '70's (around the time they had the TV show.) We stayed at the Stardust. And Cher only changed outfits once. I have wonderful memories of that show. But back then there was nothing for a kid to do in Vegas except Circus Circus.

  10. Isn't Vegas also getting a football team in either 2019 or 2020? The Rams are moving there.

  11. I hate to say it but I don't think that tour did her any favors. Most people probably hadn't seen her in a while and she looked a lot different from the youthful pop princess everyone had loved.

  12. Give Britney a poor break. She did her duty by providing for her family and hanger on's for years. Let her live a quiet and peaceful life somewhere out of the spotlight and off of the stage.
