After at least a year of telling you the same thing, the mainstream media is finally beginning to talk about the fact that this foreign born former A+ list athlete turned permanent A list celebrity is no longer funding his A list celebrity wife's business. This has the business on the verge of shutting down for good.

ReplyDeleteMost cheating husbands I imagine would still try to put up a good front and treat their wife well. However, for a few years now it has seemed David is barely tolerating her and has built up a lot of resentment.
Maybe she drinks too much? Maybe she is depressive and controlling? Maybe she is ... ? Something?
Why does he seem so mad at her?
By no means do I mean to imply he is cutting funding because he is "mad at her" I think that's just responsible financial management.

He's a passive aggressive ass. Wants to divorce but doesn't want to look like the bad guy by leaving. So he's trying to force her to leave.
DeleteHer assets are probably largely tied up in business and real estate and not liquid. So on paper she might be worth that much, in reality, if she had to sell off the components of her business, and take whatever losses from what she couldn't liquidate, not as much.
ReplyDeleteHe is also trying to buyout Simon Fuller so I suspect hunter that he’s done with keeping up the facade of brand Beckham. He’s humiliating her in public, being more reckless with the cheating, so to me he’s trying to make her leave him.

Because I honestly never thought it would. But then again She never did do Red Carpet type Items for Hollywood Events and maybe that's why Her Business is failing.

Most of it's not liquid. Real estate and other holdings.
Her clothes are designed for a very specific body type (hers), and are way overpriced for what they are. They are basically just higher-end versions of classics (not like someone such as L’Wren Scott whose line was losing money because of her amazing attention to detail.)
ReplyDeleteIdk if anyone saw what Meghan Markle was wearing on Christmas. Her whole outfit, besides the hat, was VB. It was a simple knit dress, a coat, boots that didn’t fit, and a purse. The cost was about $8000 (the purse alone was $1200). Totally not worth it for something so basic.
Supposedly both Beckhams are financially strapped. The problem is not simply her business losing money, although that is significant, - but that both of them lived extremely extravagantly (i.e. large staffs, private jets etc.) It was all affordable when David was at his peak earnings but those days are past. Apparently they spent most of his peak earnings rather than investing it for the future (i.e. now).
ReplyDelete@ Hunter, I suspect at this point it is a business arrangement and brand and no longer even a shred of a marriage in which case he does NOT want to dump more hard earned cash into it or be associated (either one of them) with a losing venture or facet of the brand. I think he may even have pitched to her to separate years ago and she nixed it. I don't think he is the 'cheating' husband only - but maybe someone who took too much advantage of his freedoms. She sounds like a demanding controlling nightmare (I am sure he can be too) but the blinds about her weight obsession even possibly affecting their daughter make me suspect.
ReplyDeleteYep, most of VB's designs are made for slouchy women, hips twisted forward, with possible EDs. All those oversized sweaters and bag dresses that VB wears regularly aren't flexible designs (as seen in that atrocious outfit she wore to the Harry and Meghan wedding.) VB has tried to force her body hiding aesthetic on the public for a long time. Notice how little her designs are copied by H&M or Top Shop? Yeah, VB simply does not trend.
