This A-list movie / television actor has enjoyed a very long career. He is an Academy Award winner / nominee for an iconic role you all recognize. A little over 2 decades ago, this actor molested a girl who was barely a teen. He wrote a pretty large check to the victim’s family to avoid criminal charges. Despite this, our actor has continued his career in Hollywood. Nobody in Hollywood had any problem with putting our actor on many productions filled with underage teens and tweens. Molesting a very underage girl didn’t even cause a blip.

ReplyDeleteSo now Enty knows that EVERYONE in Hollywood is aware of every actor's fuck-ups? Is there a secret publication that shares these things like "Actor John Doe molested / abused this teenager / his co-star on his latest production. But he's available for your productions now!"
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying there are copious amounts of morals and ethics in Hollywood and not excusing the crimes. But when payoffs happen regularly, is everyone somehow expected to be aware of their colleagues' crimes?

ReplyDeleteSo, somebody checked Edward James Olmos' Wikipedia entry, found this stuff in his Wikipedia entry and extrapolated from that.
ReplyDeleteThe only issue is that the writer was so eager to accuse liberal Hollywood at all costs that he failed to notice that Olmos (like Danny Trejo, for instance) isn't exactly the guy you cast in productions filled with underage girls. Battlestar Galactica or Blade Runner 2049 aren't exactly tween-galore material....
Basically how most "back in the day" or "decades ago" blinds are written.

ReplyDeleteOlmos' past became a big deal during Lorraine Bracco's divorce from Harvey Keitel and the custody of their daughter. Bracco was dating Olmos and Keitel used the past abuse allegation to prevent Bracco from moving in with Olmos and win greater physical custody of the daughter.
