Blind Item #15 - Golden Globes

There is no way this foreign born A list mostly movie actor who had a run on television this past year should have been allowed in the same room as this permanent A list musician. There is still bad blood and the actor had some choice words about being blown off for something the actor considers worse and the actor let the musician know it. Just because the studio threw a wad of cash at the organization doesn't mean the movie is any good.

    4. The source I read said that they talked outside in a patio area for about an hour, that they left the party from different exits, and that Pete & MGK met up with Kyle Mooney at another party. Kate was not at that particular party, though...

    1. What's the tea on Pete Davidson having a big dick? Are there pics or just rumors?

  4. He must have a dick like a salami. He looks like he's 5 minutes from death. Probably smells like it.

    1. That's what I thought too. Wasnt SBC supposed to play Freddie Mercury? He would've been awesome.

  10. Ahhh too bad Sasha didn't get to star in the pedo made movie. Everybody look for your violins.

  12. I do love explaining to everyday people how the Golden Globes are bought and paid for. Knocking those ratings down one household at a time. :)

  13. I guess I'd heard about some awards being bought/paid for but didn't realize the GG were part of that. My eyes have definitely been opened since following CDAN.

  14. Yeah, I couldn’t stop thinking about Sacha Baron Cohen being in that room when Bohemian Rhapsody won. It’s so fucked up. Brian May wouldn’t let SBC tell the actual true story of Queen

  15. @Brayson87,I don't think the pedo would have been the director if Sasha starred,I could be wrong but they sure would clash.

  16. The GGs have a long assed reputation of being bought. Sure, all the awards shows are bought or manufactured in one form or another but the GGs are in your face and do not care, have been forever.

  17. So where was Lucy Boynton during the ceremony? She was photographed on the red carpet but I never spotted her at the Bohemian Rhapsody table & she wasn't onstage when it won Best Picture.

  18. I think SBC would have made an awesome Freddie Mercury.

  19. also where the fuck is this singer expose by esquire?

  20. I have deeply mixed feelings over this.

On one hand, Queen was my life throughout my teen years. Sad but true. Watching the movie win last night brought me to tears.

Though they were tinged with disbelief and disappointment. No way did the movie deserve the win.

In fact, I’ve been disappointed in Brian for a long time. It seemed he and Roger were willing to compromise on a great deal (ex Singer) so long as Brian’s vision for what would and wouldn’t be told remained intact.

I get it. The story was of the band, too, not just Freddie. And preserving his dignity in death is something Brian and Roger take seriously. And frankly, they had every right to say they didn’t like SBC for the project.

Buuuuuut at what price was this movie finally made? It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

    1. @Disillusioned: I could have written this entire comment myself. Agreed. I’m also bothered that Brian apparently considers, on some level, Freddie’s sexuality to be a shameful thing. To me, it was part of Freddie’s joie de vivre

  21. All the awards these days are not good it’s about rewarding a select few..
Ummm I can recall watching the Grammys from start to finish decades ago..
I haven’t watched it in decades, it’s just plain boring and these young singers can’t sing at all.
Auto tune is their very best friend....Nothung new here folks..

  22. @filmfanb, I don't think esquire was ever going to print that article, it was just a way for Singer & Co to draw out victims and witnesses to pay them off or otherwise silence them. The same thing was done in the past with a fake lawsuit. You've got to appreciate how proactive he is, Kendall got nothing on him. Well okay she doesn't dig boys but you get what I mean.

  24. My God, what a bunch of prissy church ladies.

Freddie would have laughed at you. You are everything he detested - so unimaginative and self-righteous.

  27. Everyone buys a Golden Globe! That's why Pia Ziadora has one.

  28. Yeah, the young'uns might not remember, but after the Pia Zadora scandal, the Globes were not televised for a couple of years. Big scandal.

  29. My friend was Pia Zadora's Girl Friday for a while, several decades ago. One of her duties was to shave Pia's armpits. SHAVE HER ARMPITS!!! (this must have been before everyone waxed).

I thought even then that no amount of money and access to famous people would make that duty okay.

  30. My first thought when Rami Malak won was he did not look surprised. He knew it had been bought for him. When the other guy accepted for best picture, his first words were "what a surprise" but you could tell, he wasnt.

  31. I still shave my armpits.

Friend of mine was pissed Bohemian Rhapsody had so many inaccuracies, she understood why SBC would turn it down (I told her this) and agreed (as do I) he would have been incredible in the role.

  32. @hunter--poorly worded on my part. I meant to imply "before Hollywood starlets waxed". I doubt many of them shave any more.

  33. I think this is Ben Whishaw. The blind says the actor is angry at being ‘blown off’; Sacha wasn’t blown off, he chose to leave. Whishaw has supposedly been cast as his replacement, Brian May was quoted saying he was really happy with the casting. I saw Whishaw at an event where he’d arrived straight from rehearsals with a Mercury moustache. Then in 2015 he was quoted as saying that he still hadn’t received a contract and he didn’t know what was happening with the project; Malek was announced in 2016. That sounds like being blown off to me.

I wondered if Whishaw was dropped from the project by Bryan Singer because of old grudges; it was rumoured that Kevin Spacey chased Whishaw pretty hard when Whishaw (then aged 23) played Hamlet at the Old Vic (the theatre where Spacey was Artistic Director aka Predator in Chief). I shudder to think what the origin of those rumours might have been.

If it was the case that Whishaw was effectively sacked by Bryan Singer, and Queen are *still* supporting the film after Singer’s complete dereliction of duty during filming (never mind child sex abuse allegations),well. If I was Whishaw I’d have some choice words for Brian May et al.

  34. I'm squarely on Cohen's side. Fuck Brian May. He's an asshole and a liar of epic proportions.

    Rami Malek: Bought his fame.
I wouldn't want to know what late-night "ceremonies", underground or high above LA, were involved in the bargain.
