Blind Item #7

This permanent A list singer/musician from two permanent A list groups is a great guy, but he needs rehab. I'm not sure he thinks there is a problem though.

  1. Great guy, unless you ask Veruca Salt.

    2. @Big Kim - He dumped Louise Post for Winona Ryder right before a show, so Louise got so drunk she could hardly perform. I think that show might have led to the band’s breakup?

  2. Saw the video of him drinking on stage and fell off. Poor fellow.

Michael Grates: Have I stepped over some line in the sands of coolness with you? Because excuse me if somebody doesn't know the secret handshake with you.
Troy Dyer: There's no secret handshake. There's an IQ prerequisite, but there's no secret handshake.
Love that film and wanted to say great handle. Ethan’s a gracious and talented guy(no matter what enty says lol)

There's no point to any of this. It's just a... a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know... a quarter-pounder with cheese, those are good, the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moments where your laughter becomes a cackle... and I, I sit back and smoke my Camel Straights and I ride my own melt

Doucher. Ethan’s a gem though(maybe not to marry though 😜

  9. I know in the States you all are pretty damn prissy about alcohol, but here in the slightly more robust UK falling over pissed once or maybe twice is not a siren call for rehab.

    It's called the weekend.

  10. Huh. Didn't realize Grohl was much of a drinker, since he's so fucking smug about not doing drugs all the time. Him and Jon Bon Jovi both...alkies but still so much better than everybody else.

  12. H4 here.....
I hate to say it but it is Dave. I also hate to bring this up but it’s also H1....he has been the worst kind of enabler. Him and Dave have been doing heroin together often. I fear they will OD if they don’t get help. We haven’t spoken in weeks because I refuse to accept his drug use. Any of you who follow him on twitter will see lately he has been in a dark place. Pray for him friends, his own children won’t even speak to him anymore, he needs help.

    @flashy vic

Falling down drunk every week is binge drinking; and it's alcoholism

  15. Every WEEK?

    Every day maybe.

Binge Drinking IS the core of British culture.

  17. Dave Grohl is the only person I can think of given that he was in Nirvana and is in Foo Fighters. Everyone seems to really like him. Hope he doesn't become another statistic from that generation of music. It's really unfortunate how many of them have died from suicide and overdoses. Out of the big four grunge bands only Pearl Jam isn't wrought with lives cut short by suicide and drugs.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well if you count Andrew Wood's overdose prior to Pearl Jam coming into fruition I guess even they aren't unscathed.

I was a philosophy major but dropped out of college before getting my BFA, but I channel my feelings into original songs with my band called “Hey That’s My Bike”

  20. Rockers should take an early retirement. At 35 years old, say. Older than that and you can't live the rock lifestyle for long.

  21. Oh noes. Hope Dave gets some help. He does seem like one of the rare good ones.

  28. Both Grohl and Vedder could probably use AA and/or rehab or so I have heard. Vedder can stop drinking and get on the wagon but can't stay there, that is one of the things that AA lists as a marker of "Am I an alcoholic?" Both can't go on stage without drinking which is sad they should learn how to.

Grohl is also rumored to have problems with sexual acting out, Vedder doesnt, we just all WISH he did ! :) But then he would be scummy and we wouldn't want him anyway.

Both of them need AA my opinion. There are meetings for the famous/celebrity only not on the regular meeting list if they are worried about that and Betty Ford. Thing is things just haven't gotten really bad for them they haven't bottomed out yet. Maybe they never will.

Also, Mike McCready is in recovery for alcoholism, has been since the beginning, so PJ is not completely out of the woods, they were however more centered/smart than some of the others. So is Slash, Jerry Cantrell, Anthony Kiedis, Flea and just about anyone else who survived the era...the 1990s, everyone else is stone dead. I thought they would have learned from the big three in the 1960s...Janis, Jimi, Jim and also Keith Moon, John Bonham and Brian of the Stones...but they were even worse.

Both have reps as alkies...wish it wasn't true, but you know...I wish they BOTH would get help, take the time to go to REHAB and stay, stay, stay until it sticks.

Just wish Cobain had been able to take time off get really sober/clean...I don;t think he had it in him though.

When I say this it is not saying I hate them it is that I like them wish they would get clean and sober. Eddie's face shows it...I really wish it didn't.
