It was probably the first young asian girl the decision maker didn't have to fly to asia for, so of course her group was rewarded.

ReplyDeleteI have heard that the musical equivalent of the casting couch is extremely common in the music industry in South Korea. Also, their music market is quite small compared to places like the US, Japan, or the UK, so their pop groups and singers have no choice but to market themselves overseas to make a decent living.
