ReplyDeleteIf you are so young you don't know who Ashanti is, you will have problems with most of Enty's stories...most are from the 90's indie alternative rock scene. Ashanti was big in the early 2000's for signing on Ja Rule's tracks.
Irv Gotti told that story a long time ago on MTV.

DeleteIs Ashanti saying she actually sang for Lopez? I certainly don't know anything about the recording industry, but can't they make almost anybody sound decent? I never thought there was any need for stand-in singers in the music industry. How does a person even break into that business if they can't at least warble a few lines?
ReplyDeleteI can safely assure whoever is worried about using the name "Candy Cane" or any variation of it, not to worry. It's been used about a million times by a million drag queens. I think it's now been retired, sort of like "Kitty Litter".
