Do you think Rami Malek will win the Oscar for Best Actor?

  1. Some mornings I wake up grumpy; other mornings, I just I let him sleep in.

  2. Depends on how many of the voters attended Singer's parties.

  3. By now if voters aren't speaking out vs. singer by not voting for this film for anything, they are fucking hypocrites. In any case since he didn't sing the songs himself, he did a job not deserving of an Oscar.

  4. Then again these are the same assholes who thought Polanski was a great guy so who knows.

  5. Properly Christian Bale

  6. I didn’t see the movie (didn’t see any of them and won’t), and I hate Queen’s music so I’m the wrong person to hazard a guess. But I’ll say YES just for he hell of it.

  7. Just give to Chritian Bale for The Dark Knight!

  8. Hopefully not. I hope a GOOD actor that gave a GOOD, wellrounded performance and not just an shallow impression gets the Oscar.

    Rooting for Willem Dafoe.

  9. Hollywood rarely misses a chance to show its ass.

  10. Don't care. Just want Gaga to lose.

    1. Same! They can give anyone anything, just not gaga.

  11. No. If the Singer thing hadn't broken, then maybe. But now no way. That will be how Hollywood responds to the allegations. BR will be blanked at the ceremony.

  12. In his case why the fuck would I care? There are far more talented people. But someone thought he had a nice ass so he got nominated.

  13. Rami Malek shouldn't win, but he will.

Karma awaits him on the other side....

  14. I do and I think it will showcase one of the systemic problems is Hollywood. No one will ask important questions about Singer and why he would work with someone so clearly besieged with moral issues.
They’ll clap(or won’t in a perfect world).... but it H-weird so they will pay him on the back and fight to cast him and pretend the vile information they all hold doesn’t exist.

  15. Hope not. There are were much better performances in better films.

  16. Sadly I believe.
Maybe Cooper can but Bale clearly doesn’t care .He trolled all his acceptance speeches

  17. Slightly off topic here, but is anyone else following this attack in Chicago that Jussie Smolett reported yesterday?

The one where two Trump supporters supposedly tracked him down at 2am on one of the coldest nights in Chicago history and attacked him with bleach and a rope?

It's all over the media - New York Times, the Guardian, etc. - but the Chicago police have reviewed the surveillance video and there's nothing on it but Jussie walking around by himself. No attack, no attackers.

    1. Yup. None of it makes sense. But, it has done its job of getting the 2 sides up in arms and at each other again.

  18. Meanwhile, Oprah was with Gayle, on David Geffen’s yacht, watching the MJ documentary. So what will Oprah say, when the David Geffen documentary comes out someday?

  19. @nutty

nutty, yes we have heard it and we have talked about it in previous blind comment sections.

  20. @Nutty Flavor - a couple of us were discussing it in the "talk show host" blind a little earlier. Yea, something is definitely fishy about his story.

    1. Is "fishy" another term for bullshit?

+11111111 everything you said is true, and is why I begrudgingly believe that they'll give it Malek. a shining example of the hypocrisy. I hope Malek's career goes downhill after this. There's a lot of similarities between Malek and Adrien Brody winning for Polanski's The Pianst in the late 90s....

    1. Yes indeed there are parallels with Brody.
The upside his-look at him now.
Malek May go the distance for a big based on talent and his -unusual ,yet bonified- star presence and talent.
But I’d rather like to think he’ll be punching holes in Fandango movie vouchers at a mall someday.

  22. Thanks all - will join the previous conversation. Sorry for repeating.

not to allude to another blind on another site along with evidence on imdb pro etc to back it up but....

Malek has had no offers post-Bohemian Rhapsody.
He has his shoot for Robot's final season between March to May and then.... NOTHING else on his slate. He is upset that he isnt get more offers.
He thought he would, especially since he's been racking up all these awards & looks more than likely he is taking the oscar.

  24. The Oscar career curse. Just ask Halle Berry about it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This is the one contest that actually appears to be a horse race between Malek and Bale if one goes by the previous award shows.

I hope Bale wins, but I will not be disappointed if Rami wins.

    ReplyDelete
  26. he burned bridges with Anonymous Content and Sam Esmail when he refused to do a 5th season - the magic number for syndication and further profit after the series concludes. The trouble he has caused means its unlikely Sam Esmail will follow through on rumored projects with him (American Radical. That leaves his schedule...empty :)

    @tricia

oh god I hope for the mall voucher thing. did you know his twin is a teacher?

rami's twin brother works with kids, and rami works with men who rape kids! ha!

    1. Yeah... I am aware. Bizarre:(((

  27. I hope Willem is the dark horse who pulls an upset win. I would be delighted, as I suspect, the entire audience at the venue would be.

  28. Maybe Defoe can get a career achievement award? Then it would make for a popular actor win,no backlash, a Scent of a Woman type win.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I want Viggo to win but I think it will be Bale.

    ReplyDelete
  30. If Kobe can win, so can Rami. Or even Singer. No one cares about sexual assault when it comes to oscar voting.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hope not, would rather see Bale win.

  32. Most of the hollywood crowd make me want to take a long shower with a pumice stone. I am so disillusioned.

  33. He'll win because AIDS needs a face lift. More people are realizing the "cures" killed the queers and junkies as HIV is just a dormant carrier virus. The hoax makes $$$ for various intel "charities" and they wouldn't have produced this love letter to AIDS if they didn't think the hoax was slipping in credibility. The boy rape stuff is just a case of "there is no such thing as bad publicity". People are talking about the industry, which is dying by a million little cuts, and they don't care WHY people are talking. They need any buzz they can get.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nutty:

All the papers reported the story with the words "allegedly," indicating there was no proof.

    ReplyDelete
  35. His probability of winning will be directly proportional to the looseness of his asshole & ability to hold his breath.

    ReplyDelete
  36. He'll win, make a stirring #MeToo speech, everyone will applaud and then show will go on with no mention of Singer, Weinstein, Geffen or anyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I hope so. I thought he was amazing in the movie, and I love Freddie Mercury and Queen's music. I don't support Singer, but why punish Malek for Singer's crimes?

    ReplyDelete
  38. No. Not with his denial of having ever having heard anything. He still would have won had he not said anything.

Willem Dafoe was Van Gogh whereas Malek was a charicature. Bale was amazing as Cheney but I can't see Hollywood awarding a violent woman-hating beater this year, still too soon.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think he will and then once Mr. Robot ends he will step back for a break then come back to direct or something. Also, anyone know if his brother is single and straight? Yummy!

  40. Mr RM deserves to win the Oscar. He was able to so beautifully communicate both the complex emotional turmoil that Freddie Mercury lived with privately and the pure joy Freddie Mercury felt when he performed. Mr RM portrayed Freddie Mercury with such insight and humanity. The actor should not be punished for the alleged actions of the director who was hired by the studio after the actor had already signed on for the role. This is terribly unfair to MR RM if it affects his chances of winning the Oscar in any way.
