This winning actor last night told his actress girlfriend she needed to give him some time alone for pictures and to accept thanks from people and she was getting in his way. I will be glad when award season is over and this fake relationship goes by the wayside. He treats her like crap.

He thinks he is going to be a HUGE movie star, but he can't see that he is a character actor that happened to get lucky with his jawline and get the lead. He isn't going to be what he thinks he deserves - some huge A+ movie star.
He has convinced SO many people, on a personal level, that he's someone he's not. That whole endearing, nice guy thing? Thats not real. Thats a carefully curated facade.

Why are people giving her a pass on working with Bryan Singer?
ReplyDeleteRami took the Job and turned his head away from the allegations against Singer, he's hardly the only one, the reality of the situation is him taking the role or not wouldn't have made any difference to Singer staying on, he's not a big star and doesn't have that kind of power. Fox are the one's who should be under fire and boycotted, Brian May and Roger Taylor could have stopped it, they could have gone to the press and made a huge fuss about Singer and called on Queen fans to not see the film if he directed it Fox would have had to back down but they didn't.
I haven't seen the film or anything else by Singer since the first lot of allegations came out and he tried the girlfriend and baby thing to shield himself. If you went and saw this film knowing about Singer your no better than Rami or people who go to R Kelly concerts.

Im really shocked nobody's tried to talk to ben hardy, who clearly has partied with singer and got plucked from obscurity/into X-men films. and we know from enty, hardy goes hunting for future victims to bring back to Singer....he even did that for him while they were filming bohemian rhapsody...
everybody involved in making bohemian rhapsody should be cursed, imo.
pisses me off Fox is gonna get away with so much by having the film be a success and malek rack up awards, including the oscar most of all, for it.

ReplyDeletethe weird thing is, whats wrong with being a character actor?? I ADORE michael shannon - I think he'll probably get an oscar someday, he knows he'll never be some A+ leading man, but he lovingly embraces it and picks excellent projects.
meanwhile, rami malek has this ruthless delusion that he is the next A+ list male star...and its just not gonna happen dude...also, he really puts effort into cultivating this likeable, 'aww shucks' endearing personality that Ive noticed for a while - and I regularly questioned its authenticity. now he's shown the whole world its an act by lying about the allegations, showing he didnt give a damn to begin with, as long as the road led to an oscar. sadly it'll pay off for him, at least in terms of getting a trophy.
I think Malek's in for a rude awakening, and its just starting as he is noticing he has no offers like what he expected/thought he deserved. karma's a bitch!

ReplyDeleteI find it hard to believe that Rami had no prior knowledge of the rumours regarding Bryan Singer. Hollywood is a small town and word travels fast. Rami’s been in the business more than ten years. I think he will take a break from acting after Mr. Robot officially wraps. Whether the industry welcomes him back with open arms remains to be seen. Longevity in the business is never guaranteed; no matter how many awards you’ve won. I hope his shiny trophies are keeping him warm & happy at night.

notthisagain - jeez louise who rattled your cage? i merely stated that i enjoyed the movie and liked his performance. The only other thing i saw him in was the first season of mr robot. I'm merely making an educated quess that cleaning up awards with this role will provide enough momentum for at least a couple of plum, well paying gigs. He doesn't appear to have brody's douche behaviour holding him back. Yes singer is a scumbag but in hollywood as elsewhere,profit coupled with powerful friends appears to allow cretins to escape justice for their crimes. A common theme of Enty's work here over the years. Don henley appears to have been able to write a big cheque and gotten away with raping a minor...

People keep telling me to watch BR but I just can’t bring myself to do it after finding out everything Singer has done. That and the fact it disregards AIDS and disrespects those that have died from and live with it. I just remember my moms sadness when he passed. It’s part of his legacy and it shouldn’t be ignored.
