Blind Item #3

Right now they are saying nothing, but prosecutors in this case involving the actor/singer from the hit network show are weighing dropping all the charges against the actor/singer because they are not sure they can make them stick.

  3. Based on the case for bail they outlined, it would be hard to imagine that they couldn't make it stick.

Anyway, Jussie has lost in the court of public opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  4. He's already lost everything in public opinion. Meh, whatever. I'd say good enough.
I mean, they don't hall off every Becky and Karen who make outrageously embaraembarrassing calls on
THERES A "PERSON" BBQ'ING IN THE PARK!"
    or
"THERES "A MAN" IN A MAILBOX IN MY AFFLUENT MOSTLY WHITE COMPLEX"!
    soooo... Whatever.let him go

  7. They'll never drop all the charges but they might do a plea deal, due his sudden inexplicable addiction to ecstasy that disrupted his thinking 😅

  8. Not Jussie they have that guy dead to rights, video evidence, a paper trail, his co-conspirators, phone records (including text messages), and they will also get him for sending that first letter. He's definitely going to jail.

Of course a guy like him might enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I said this from day one. Thats why they dropped the whole case in an press conference because they know they wont get a conviction from a downtown jury.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Have the feds weighed in yet though?
Isn't mailing threats (even to yourself) a federal crime? The state prosecutors wouldn't be dealing with that anyway. Maybe they're just going to back off to let a stronger federal case go forward instead.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Technically speaking he did commit one hate crime and conspired with others to commit a second one.

    ReplyDelete
  12. It is Chicago though, maybe they're trying to set a precedent for when they let R. Kelly off the hook.

    ReplyDelete
  13. And for those wondering where the bail money came from:

Love told ABC News over the phone: "It was his own money. I just posted bail for him. She added that R. Kelly is a "good friend of mine."

  16. Yeah, Brayson, wasn't that amazing? She used part of the settlement from the death of her child to bail out R Kelly.

  17. @Nutty, It sounds more complicated than that, you'd think just having a daughter at some point would make you run from R Kelly:

  18. Glitter-- he better NOT! Do I think he'll get away with no time...yes. Ive been really worried since Geragos got on the bandwagon and started the reasonable doubt dance. I worry about the CPD press conference backfiring as being seen as depriving him of due process, however, he's just stating the facts! As some here have pointed out from the beginning...he held on to the sandwich!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Never underestimate the people to dumb to avoid jury duty, but ya atleast gotta publicly shame the guy with a trial. Probably, none of the prosecutors wants the loss on their record though.

If not, the city of Chicago should sue him for the cost of the investigation. Civil court required much less burden of proof.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sorry, but the "Beckys" etc. are just everyday assholes. They didn't plan their stunts, buy props, pay co-conspirators, go on GMA to double-down, or pull any "I'm a huuuuuuge star!" bullshit.

  21. It is Chicago...he lived at the Loew's residences, not really a shady area. They have bigger fish to fry than him. Go to heyjackass.com to look at the crime stats.

  22. Plus the fact that the "Becky's" are usually right, like the lady calling on the bbq, park rules said no propane and they were using propane. Of course the professional victim mentality kicks in which allows certain people to feel they can act however they want and if they get called out on it the reason must be racism. Dey dindu nuffin and wuz on dey way to help dey sick grandma gets to a prayer meeting.

  24. As far as the RKelly thing...does anyone else feel like that whole "not able to post bail" thing seem off?

Totally plausible, as he got evicted from studio, owing $170k+. However, given that this has been brewing and bubbling for months, I just wonder if he's not playing poor to protect his fortune and make victims think they should settle for much lower amounts than they'd want to pursue.

  25. This says a lot about what a fucked up world we live in today. Especially America. We are such a stupid and ass-backwards nation.

A man can rape and beat a teenager, keep her hostage for years and do this to many young girls, over and over and over again...year after year and no one says a word. Even when evidence comes out, he still is being supported by many Americans.

Yet, another man claimed something false because of his insecurities (you have to be one insecure and disillusioned person to even come up w/ a hair-brained idea like that) and America wants him executed.

    Seriously?
What is wrong w/ this picture.

I'm not saying what Jussie did was right. It wasn't. It set us back as a nation and he should be held accountable, but let's be REAL here...lying to get attn versus raping/beating/hostage/pedophilia.

Again, America.... Seriously? You are going to choose the side of the pedophile?!!

Our nation's priorities are so fucked up. It's embarrassing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. For the folks that said, "Well, he's screwed in the public's eyes - good enough".... are you kidding me? Anyone who fakes a hate crime in today's racially-charged environment needs to be strung up by their balls and/or tits and flogged within an inch of their life.

With "balls and/or tits", I think I've covered almost every possible gender configuration. Want to be PC and all.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Who the fuck is choosing pedophilia? You can want both to be held accountable you know, and the fact that both of them are black plays a huge role in this too. When R Kelly was first accused years ago the black community stood by him because thats what they did back then, stand by another person of color no matter what they had done, like OJ. Now they are a little more saavy and realize thats not always the best course of action, plus the evidence just kept piling up on R Kelly. Jussie on the other hand, tried to use this exact same thinking to his advantage and even black people thought it smelled like shit from the beginning. The fact that he's also gay made it easier for a lot of black people to doubt him as well as there is still a huge stigma for that in certain parts of the black community.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Of course he won’t get shit done to him. And we all know why.

  29. @Brayson: Apparently he’s done ecstasy a few times in the past year, and he’s saying he has an untreated drug problem? Please!

If they don’t prosecute him, I’m gonna be so pissed. He could’ve caused major riots over this and will make it harder for future victims. Apparently the FBI would let the state charge him first. I disagree—I’d charge him with the more serious crime first assuming they have an air-tight case. He’d definitely go to jail if he got convicted of mail fraud.

  31. They can't prove that he wasted public resources, with all the testimony from those two dopes he hired? For real?

    ReplyDelete
  32. R Kelly needs to be locked up for life imo, and castrated as well.

Now Jussie. H'es not some insecure boy who made a silly mistake. He's a 40 year old sociopath who deliberately staged a racist hate crime, in this volatile political atmosphere, to get sympathy for being black and gay, which nobody gives a flying fuck about. I never even heard of him before all of this. He jumped onto the TDS bandwagon and followed their script to the letter.

The reason he's a dangerous sociopath, is because if 2 innocent white men would have been arrested, then he would have done nothing to aquit them. He would have happily watched innocent people dragged off to jail, lives ruined, their families lives ruined, just to fed his own narcissistic victim mentality and social justice warrior, leftist liberal political leanings.

What he did was show the content of his character to the world. Nobody cares about his fucking skin colour.

    ReplyDelete
  33. On the other hand Jussie did do a public service proving how ass backwards the mainstream media is, and so close to the Covington High incident. They made literally fake news stories back to back. Shame Ellen Page had to lose her sh!t on Colbert when there are actually real victims out there.

  34. Using a propane grill in a common area is more than an annoyance, it's dangerous. If you can't read and comprehend a sign that says "no propane grills" then I'm going to go ahead and assume you're not smart enough to actually operate one correctly, and when it explodes I shouldn't have to risk my family being caught on fire, hit by shrapnel or covered in weave remains because someone thinks they are in a protected class and the rules don't apply to them.

    1. Akbar, it’s racist to expect certain races to follow the rules and laws. Didn’t you know? They’re SPECIAL and the fact that maybe some of their ancestors were slaves at some point generations ago, gives them a free pass to do whatever they want! Isn’t it something, to refuse to follow the laws and rules and then act like the victim? Then get everyone kissing your ass because of your skin color, but yeah yeah WHITE PRIVILEGE 🙄

    2. Yeah waste police funds and time because a family was in a barbecue-designated area, but had a charcoal grill in a “non-charcoal” zone; as if they don’t have better to do.

  35. Hey Rosie, the 'feelin'g you're describing here is not white power, but brain power. It comes as no surprise you'd confuse the two.

Jussie clearly has the mental capacity of a pre teen. Paying with a cheque, not surrendering his phone to the police, leaving a noose around his neck for an hour, holding onto a subway sandwich while being almost lynched. And thinking that the average person will believe him?
    He's clearly borderline retarded.

2 white MAGA-hat wearing guys, screaming MAGA MAGA, where out in Chicago (of all places), in the middle of the night, on the coldest night in decades, armed with a noose and (frozen) bleach, looking for their target Jussie fucking Smollett - a d-list actor nobody has ever heard of - to roughen up, only to leave him with a microscopic scratch, because he heroically beat them both into retreat, all while holding his subway sandwich, is a brilliant story. I love it. Haven't laughed this hard in ages.

Somewhere in this Subway needs to make a commercial. It would be a waste if they didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jussie's already getting the "affluenza" treatment in the latest Hollywood Reporter cover story:

"I'm About to Break": Jussie Smollett and the Pressure of Hollywood Fame."

"Did the pressures of childhood fame or a struggling music career play a role in causing him to concoct what police are now deeming an elaborate hoax?"

The mostly sympathetic article also talks about how publicists were desperate to keep their clients from being asked about Jussie as his story unravelled. Questions about Jussie were blacklisted at several events, according to the piece.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fun quote from the Hollywood Reporter piece:

Over Oscar weekend, one Hollywood insider who has known Smollett and his family for decades told THR, “He’s a good guy, but he’s also an actor, and actors sometimes crave attention, and that comes out in weird ways.”

    ReplyDelete
  38. Come on. I don’t buy this one, Enty. They have text messages. the police chief says there is a lot of evidence. He will be prosecuted unless they do a plea deal. There’s no way to explain him saying they were white when they were black and they knew each other. It’s preposterous

  44. I really liked his character on Empire. But sending a threatening letter to yourself to get a raise? Isn't that what actors pay their agents to do, get the raise, negotiate? Having him pay the costs of all the police work would be an appropriate penalty. That will use up all his money, because he won't be working professionally again for a very long time.

"the Humiliation of Jussie Smollett" was a very obvious distraction media piece.
    To distract from what?
    1. R Kelly story . 2. Korea/Vietnam meeting/Trump.

It won't be prosecuted. Chicago has much bigger fish to fry.

  48. Heather - excellent! How about "Subway sandwiches give you the power to beat 2 enormous trainers into retreat, disclaimer: Subway does not endorse financing fake hate crimes, but we do suggest our tomato sauce based sub, for realistic special effects"

    ReplyDelete
  49. The Feds weighed in and have found the letter does not match either Jussie's handwriting or vernacular. The two brothers are on record as threatening gay men with beatings or death and threatening Jussie previously on the set of Empire.

And law enforcement won't even have a chat with the beckies who file false police reports because a family is barbecuing in a park, selling bottled water on a 100° day in the Bay Area or running kids out of a swimming party or, or or... Only one small town finally came out tho specifically tell the beckies that being black is not against the law so STOP CALLING 911!

That's the problem with allowing white folks to use local law enforcement as their personal security force and not arresting them for malicious mischief. It goes both ways.. As well it should.

Get over it. Black folks have to "get over it" every day of their existence. It doesn't feel very good, does it?!! Yep! I know exactly how you feel.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Fuck off Unknown. People such as yourself are the main reason for this division. You engage in identity politics. You would NEVER believe Jussie's bullshit if he were white. The ONLY reason you believe him is because he isn't.

And your 'cool story bro'' still does not explain how the 2 Nigerians weren't 2 white Maga-hat wearing whiteys, like Jussie claimed, but 2 BLACK NIGERIANS he knew!

And btw, I'd rather be a Becky than a Shaniqua, even though I never called the police on anyone because of skin colour. At least Becky is a real fucking name, short for Rebecca. Half the names in your family are just made up nonsense, a result of cough-or-sneeze-like-sounds.

  52. Anyway, Jon Mixon on Quora has got a good piece answering the question "Can Jussie Smollett's career survive this scandal?"

    https://qr.ae/TUf0tD

    Jon's best point:

"He can't be trusted— If the allegations behind this event are proven to be true (That Smollet attempted to extort his current employer into giving him a salary increase) then almost no production is going want to deal with him.

"The very few who might will make him sign very restrictive contracts to protect themselves from a similar occurrence, they'll fire him for the least violation of that contract, and they will offer him far less money as he's “damaged goods”.

"No matter what Smollet does going forward, no one in the business is going to risk trusting him for years to come."

    ReplyDelete
  53. Uhh, have any of you guys actually READ those text messages, as in all the ones in which they discussed the actual physical training and nutritional advice that he had paid for? Also, why would the brothers have asked to be paid by check when Jussie had previously paid them through Venmo? Doesn't anyone think that that is strange? The corrupt CPD hasn't yet presented ANY evidence that incriminates Jussie, and they can't even provide a compelling motive. I hope this blind item is true. He's quite likely innocent, and a good guy like him doesn't deserve to be raked over the coals like this!
