Which B-list singer and celeb spawn of an A+++ lister is livid that a person accusing her most famous ex of faking their marriage in that documentary that’s been in the news quite a bit as of late. She’s seen the movie and knows these accusations about their marriage aren’t true, so she’s planning the make the rounds of the morning shows to disown the documentary, but also to discredit the people funding the documentary: the talk show host, (whom she once considered a friend), the talk show host’s friend, that evil mogul, the disgraced producer, and that online tabloid founder. As for those other accusations, well they allegedly happened before she came into the picture but I’m sure she’ll find people to discredit the accusers and bring the evidence. She’s out for blood!

ReplyDeleteI watched the documentary. It never says that their marriage was faked. I absolutely think Jackson is guilty of molesting somebody, even if these accusations end being totally false. But I also think Oprah's involvement is opportunistic. She was a major ally of Jackson's, so if she's jumping ship, it's probably because she knows something was up and wants to get out ahead with her halo intact.

ReplyDeleteI'm probably in the minority here, but based on everything I've read and heard, I always thought their relationship was genuine. It was misguided for sure, and they clashed terribly (he was raised a JW and she was a Scientologist so right from that bat, that's going to clash). Michael didn't practice being a JW any longer (he couldn't after he did Thriller) but his mom was always devout and he did everything he could to make his mom happy. He *lived* for his mom.
ReplyDeleteI think that they definitely had affection and love between them but there was too much going on that divided them. When he died, she supposedly fell apart. Even though they moved on, they still kept in touch and were still very close. Even her ex has commented on that.

This fiction that Michael Jackson "fooled" everyone with his evil cunning is really annoying and is letting a lot of people off the hook, and allowing them to make more money off Jackson. People knew, or at the very very least strongly suspected, and still celebrated him because he was a talented pop star and a consistent big money-maker. The guy wrote a song called "I'm Bad" in which he repeatedly insisted that he was bad (very very bad) and urged the listener to slap his face. Okay, now I'm being facetious, but the guy was obviously twisted and they still monetized him all the way up to the end. They were propping him up to do a concert when he died. The hysteria when he died was also part of the monetized celebration. Having watched the doc the thing I took away was the deification of MJ back in the day. It was sick. He was given so much power, just a pop singer really. No one has that much draw these days, not Ga Ga or Blah Blah or all the performing chimps out there. What a malaise in society that this weird little man held such sway. I saw seas of children calling for him. Where were their parents? Nothing but kids. Mothers pimping out their 7 year old boys for a bit of fame and money. The strongest person in that doc was Wade's wife who told her mother-in-law to get out and never have anything to do with them again. Evil mother banished to the outer regions of hell. ReplyDeleteYou are right. MJ did not marry Lisa Marie out of love but for trust. She had her own money and she grew up in Hollywood, so she could understand him better. But they did have feelings for each other even after their divorce. Theirs was a perfectly normal marriage. The reason Michael abandoned the marriage is because he wanted to have children and she didn't want to give him any. So he just moved on to the nurse who said she would give him kids. Refusing to have children in a marriage is betrayal and a perfectly reasonable ground for divorce.
I have a weird feeling that there's a deeper reason they want to take MJ down, even after death.

I don't think the documentary ever said their marriage was fake. The men said Michael told them as boys that the marriage was fake. That isn't the same. They said Michael told them lots of cover stories for things so they wouldn't get upset/spill the beans/etc. That isn't the filmmakers saying anything is fake outright, just what he told them.
