Blind Items Revealed #5

March 6, 2019

This A- list singer is on a PR blitz after being in rehab which she will probably not tell anyone about, because she doesn't want people to know she slipped up.

Demi Lovato

  2. I don't know that very many people can truly achieve sobriety. The ones who talk about it certainly aren't.

  3. @rosie- agree, it’s more of moving your addiction to something less harmful. Instead of doing drugs, or drinking. focus that energy on your job, or working out!

  4. @rosie - i agree. my son is 1.5 years clean from meth, but he has slipped up and smoked weed. when you've used for 20 years of your life, it's hard to change the habit. i worry about him every day.

you have to treat the reasons you are trying to hide your pain from. if those issues aren't treated, then it doesn't matter. you will eventually start doing things again that prevent you from feeling those things that hurt so deeply.

  5. Why can't she just stick to coke like most of the other celebrities?

Addiction is weird. I've seen some people kick heroin like it was no big deal, while other people can't give up video games.

  6. Brayson-- i think that's the very argument used for saying addiction is a disease based on brain chemistry/hard-wiring.

She's relapsed before, people are concerned for her more than expecting perfection. Bottomline, she needs to stop worrying about opinions altogether where this subject is concerned.

  7. Yeah, James Hetfield checked into rehab for alcohol addiction in the early 00s, spoke about it when asked just after St. Anger came out and hasn't talked about it since. Hasn't slipped up and stayed away from booze and drugs.

Compare that to Demi and others like her, who seem to go to rehab a lot, deny they have problems, then talk about rehab and sobriety when they know they're using again.

  8. Addiction is related to lack of dopamine. I do know someone, one person, who legitimately became clean and doesn't even drink coffee now. Everyone else I know doesn't admit they have a problem.

  9. @Raven: he's actually headed in a better direction. Please don't worry, hon. Is he in his 30's? He will begin to mature soon, I promise. Some of us are late bloomers. You do know Meth changes the brain permanently? I know a lot of former tweakers who are now smoking Marijuana. It should be legalized in all states & territories.

  10. @Krissie: if lack of Dopamine were the only problem, how easily this could all be solved! Lack of Dopamine is implicated in really bad stuff like Scizophrenia, and Schizophrenic-spectrum types love uupers. Depressive types who self-medicate have a combination of neuro chemical problems: Serotonin & Melatonin being the 2 main ones, in my personal experience.

  11. Well the problem is the lack of dopamine is not the only variable because that leads to a cascade of other issues. But I'm not a psychobiology or whatever the term is, expert so that's the extent of my knowledge. Addiction is always a deficiency of some sort though.

  12. 80% of the addicts have/had something happen to them to start taking drugs to NUMB the pain inside.. Until they start telling their truth and know that they did nothing to be abused sexually by an older person, family relative or parents, bosses, a frien they trusted.. They think they did something wrong at all.. All of those Disney, Nick or kids program, the preteen or teenager is raped and most parents know what's going on.. Those kids are HEAD OF HOUSE, THEY PAY THE BILLS FOR THE PARENTS, SO THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT, in fact they know their child is been raped.. That's very disgusting to me, that's why so many child stars are on drugs, sleeping with anyone and dead..It's a fact that some people can do drugs for a period of time and stop on their own and never do it anymore.
Demi has to change her friends and stay away from the temptation of doing drugs it's easy to take the first hit and it on like a pair of underwear, they gave to have it..

    1. 80% is a bit inflated I'd say! I know plenty of grown ass people that had no trauma whatsoever and they choose to do drugs. Also know people who got hooked after a medical procedure, so no, it's not always trauma! Sometimes it's a choice.

  13. @Krissie: I agree 100 percent with you, that there is a deficiency. I'm not an expert, just an Addict (once an addict...). What would be interesting, is if psychopharmacology could move away from deficiencies, and synapses, and go to neural pathways. Traumas can create changes in neural pathways. Some of us learn to bypass those, with varying degrees of success. PS People who do Cocaine will also drink, because a 3rd substance is created in the body. I learned that from "Intervention."

  14. Keeping it 100 - Trapped. It is those early WOUNDS you can't see that change the neural pathways of the brain. Got to think higher than synapses (gates), and begin to study the pathways (roads). Peace!
