Blind Item #11

One of the celebrity offspring caught up in a certain scandal has shown no remorse. She has however, shown a fondness for coke which she has been using a lot lately.

I believe it. She’ll probably end up committing suicide when her mom goes to jail and she will no longer live in the world of privilege

  7. It is believable. Lori raised a dumb, self-absorbed brat.

  8. I've always wondered, if an airhead actress married a popinjay designer, what sort of shithead kids would they produce?

Well, turns out my guesses were correct.

  9. The daughter with the stripper name. Olivia Jade. She seems feckless. Her aim was to promote her brand, and meet a rich guy. This is why her mom went to great lengths to get her into USC. Lori didn't want her daughter living out the story from Less than Zero.

  10. Well she has a stripper's name, what do you expect?

@Derp, actually I heard she was making enough money on her own before her mother f*cked up and got caught.

Olivia Jade didn't even want to go to USC, her parents made her. She wanted to go to ASU where she could party all the time.

  11. @Brayson, Olivia Jade would have fit right in at ASU.

  12. Gator, Lori L is an old, self-absorbed brat. So it must be genetic.

  13. Yes, Olivia Jade is pissed and resentful, so powdering her nose to cope.

  14. She probably recommends it on her YouTube channel for curing anxiety attacks. Or PTSD.

  15. Man people on here are such haters. If it is Loughlin's kid she is only a kid. Why so much hate? Those two actresses are getting scapegoated for something the wealthy have been doing since the beginning of time. I'm not saying its right just saying there are millions of them who have done it. The press are manipulating people into hating these women and their kids. And I'm wondering why. I know Olivia acted jerky on youtube however she is just a kid. When i think back at how jerky I acted at that age. Not in the same way but jerky just the same

  17. I hope the downfall of people like Olivia Jade (and hopefully soon the Katrashians) will mean we don't have to put up with Instagram "models", YouTube "actors", and all of those pathetic influencers. None of those are even real jobs.

    1. Who cares? I have no idea who these people are. After a certain age, who cares?

If anyone thinks this cheating is new, then they aren't familiar with legacies, donation babies, athletes, children of fame, resume padders, etc. There are only so many slots for the hoi-polloi.

When Harvard says they admit 4% of applicants, they actually mean 4% of the unwashed masses. The set-asides in these schools is massive. It's the only way to ensure the next generation of morons, sycophants, yes-men, economy-killers, private enterprise thieves, pension-drainers, and frat-house rapists.

  18. Olivia Jade is an absolutely useless piece of crap.

I hope she realizes that, had she applied herself a little bit, her parents wouldn't be in this situation.

  19. @BayArea, The dad's email collected in the investigation clearly stated he was cool with his girls going to various schools, anywhere EXCEPT Arizona.
Supposedly he harbored a real fear that at ASU his daughters would be nothing more than drunken pass around party bottoms.

  20. Brayson, you mean he didn't want them to grow up like dear ol' mom?

    ReplyDelete
  21. MDAnderson, many would still call her a kid.

    Pretty people get treated better.

    ReplyDelete
  22. She was a kid when it started tho. 16. She probably saw it as akin to cheating in math class or at finals rather than as an actual crime. It's still a mess. Doubt her parents even told her it was illegal. Violent crime is a different story.

  23. +1 Roberta, Elite schools are for elites and whoever can slide in under the door. It's why they call them elite schools, not for the quality of the education.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's both a little funny and a little sad that the "elite" schools are losing their cachet in part because of a very American concern: they suck at sports. I mean, how can you get your face on TV jumping around like a monkey on speed if your team never makes the NCAA tournament?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Trust me, in power circles the elite schools haven't lost any luster.

USC, on the other hand, is more and more laughed at.

  26. @brayson knowing asu and the kind of girl it churns out, I’d say he was probably spot on

  27. If you read the legal complaint from the State Prosecutors, the kids, Mom and Dad were completely involved.
Jade was bragging to her friends at the private high school that she got into USC as a coxswain. She was bragging about her parent's power and what a cool joke it was they spent so much money to get her in. She was thrilled! The school athletic coach heard about it from all the talk at the school. The coach called Mossimo at home and told him that he heard Jade got in on an athletic scholarship, but had not participated in any sports!! Mossimo told the guy he would come to the school the next day and make sense of it all with him. After the meeting, Moss called Rick Singer and told him that it has all been "worked out" and the athletic coach was "all in" Anyone can read the documents. It is all online. The 2 parents were 100% equally involved, but it was Lori that actually transferred the money and Lori who got the subsequent call from Rick Singer that the Kind Foundation was being audited by the IRS. She STILL was too stupid to keep her mouth shut and kept talking to Singer about what she would say when the IRS came to their house. Feel free to ask me more, I had read every legal doc on these cases, plus I am very close to the case.

  28. DoncallmeLen- Your comment universities have lost their, "cachet" is bullshit. Not at all. Admissions are UP at universities ALL across the board and each year a smaller percentage of the total applications are accepted. This year, NYU a top East Coast School (almost impossible to get into ) had it's largest pool of applicants EVER. It will never change. No exclusivity has been lost because of the scandal.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Exactly! I was bored one day and researched her a bit...she has the depth of a kitty pool.
    Zero real thoughts.

  30. I worked at two prestigious universities in development, and I can tell you that students are just a front - it's all about the endowment. HUGE SLUSH FUNDS investing in 3rd world nations and real estate and god knows what.

Nothing shocks me about these stories except that anyone is shocked. I went back to work at a university just to get my children free tuition, so they have no debt. At the time tuition was 52k a year, and I couldn't believe how many of the students were FULL PAY. Just for the record, to be on the Parent's Council and have access to the President and the Deans, you had to made a 6 figure gift. It's not even considered a Major Gift until it is 6 figures. And universities have departments called MAJOR GIFTS. That was my first job in academia a LONG time ago.

Someone wrote a pretty bad book about development at universities years ago, something about a cow in the title it was set at a midwestern school but it was pretty on the money, so to speak.

  31. The book was called MOO by Jane Smiley. It's no blockbuster but does accurately reflect the culture at most any university. Nowhere else can you meet so many people who think they know everything and can't even function in the real world. It's a trip.

  32. The difference between what the actresses did & what actual wealthy families do is vast. The actresses and others paid directly to get their children in. No one else.
The wealthy families, call them lgacies, donate vast sums of money, but, centers, etc. They will fund a chair or an endowment or scholarship fund. The difference is that these donations benefit more than just their brat. They benefit other students through scholarships, new buildings, new facilities of some sort, etc. It not just about their kid. And this has been going on for centuries.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That is true, Suzie Q and how I justified continuing to give my time to these institutions BUT the beneficiaries of the largesse of said donors via scholarships, professorships, chairs and buildings are more of the same. I bought into it because we had a national disaster and were "rebuilding" and everyone was on board and it was for naught. The word carpetbaggers comes to mind, but I don't want to get political when we are talking about university whores.

  34. When I was in med school (Barcelo private university in Buenos Aires, I m argy) we had a classmate who was dumb as a rock ...

He was a good kid but nobody understood how the hell he reached 4th year of MEDICINE ...

We had a very strict professor as chief of Pathollogy who seemed loved to torture him in front of the class till the point in spirte we were in a VERY competitive field we all felt pitty for this guy

And I ll never forget one phrase from Dr Macias "JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN AFFORD IT DOESNT MEAN THAT YOU DESERVE IT OR THAT YOU LL GET IT!!" ... in referrence to our degree as doctors

That s the part that I dont understand of this uni scandal .. WHY to pay a fortune for a college that probably they were going to FAIL during exams ... or WAS THE ENTIRE CAREER ALSO A JOKE .. AND THE ADMISSION BRIBES ARE JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG???
