Blind Item #6

Just to give yet another big middle finger to his accusers, this disgraced producer is actually making millions from his civil settlement with his accusers. The way the deal is structured means money in his pocket.

  1. How or why? is it because insurance of some sort will settle and then he is entirely off the hook?

  4. May I suggest that when he walks out free that we have a pyre waiting for him and all the CDANers push that motherflipper inside the flames. He deserves worse.

  6. I read -

    44 million settlement
30 million goes to accusers to settle (among HOW many plus their lawyers' fees)
14 million goes to... his lawyers (and him?)

All rumored to be paid via insurance co.

  7. Supposedly, when Insurance Co's get hit with these huge claims, they immediately put aside in an interest-bearing account the entire amount claimed, and then get all that interest once it settles years later. Maybe Harvey put his own money aside and will reap those benefits.

  8. "He will stand trial in New York in June on criminal charges brought by two women, including rape."

Is the settlement for other women, but he's still standing trial against those two?

  9. When people depend on good public relations and think this type of settlement will help.......what would that be? i.e. Kevin Spacey.

  10. Harvey bought enough insurance through his business to cover 75% of this, his personal umbrella probably covered another $10M. he is on the hook for a lot less than he should be.

  14. I despise Harvey, but he is proof that it is better to be smart/savvy and/or rich than beautiful and thin.
