DeleteThere's brief nudity from Judy Davis in Husbands and Wives, and that's the actual amount of nudity in a Woody Allen movie, give or take Johansson's bare back from Match Point.
ReplyDeleteIt would make no sense for Allen to trick Cyrus into filming a sex scene in his Amazon miniseries, given that the rest of the script doesn't call for it and he's notorious for not doing sex scenes in his films. That would be a huge red flag for any actress, especially one that doesn't particularly need to be in the project, like Cyrus.
Sure, there are sides in Allen's life that are extremely creepy, and it's impossible to disregard the allegations by Dylan Farrow. But claiming he forced Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez into filming a nude sex scene is just BS, the kind of stuff that will delight the "Tell me more about the evil liberal Jews" crowd.
Apparently "disgraced" is in the eye of the blogger.

ReplyDeleteIf Woody Allen decided suddenly to shoot sex scenes in his films, that would be a shock to everyone involved, especially as nothing in his scripts suggests such sexual content. Anybody receiving a copy of a script with such a scene would raise their eyebrows, even if the scene is ultimately not used.
ReplyDeleteThat's why this story simply makes zero sense. It's just impossible that such a director would be dumb enough to insert a steamy sex scene in the middle of something he writes, just to get a young actress naked and keep the dailies for himself without being noticed.
And it's impossible that any young famous actress would agree to it, especially now. If these were the Manhattan or even Husbands and Wives days, I can see some struggling actresses being desperate enough to agree with anything he would ask them just to get their career started by being in his next film. But three years ago, two years ago? It would just bring a little cachet and consideration to a resumé, but nothing more. Woody Allen means nothing to the Millennials.

Miley Cyrus has made many public statements praising Woody Allen after they Crisis series was completed, including as late as 2018. All you have to do is google them. This item is nonsensical.
