ReplyDelete@Kate - Jealousy because Little Nicky did better numbers than anything she has ever done or will do, and that he wouldn't cast her as his love interest in any of the other mountain of shit that are his movies. But that's only a guess.

ReplyDeleteTina Fey exec producing 30 Rock and not saying anything publicly when her star Tracy Morgan went on a homophobic tear during a standup act, and not saying anything at all publicly when a doctor her next show publicly humiliated committed suicide says a lot about what kind of person she actually is. She only looks out for number one and I would not be surprised if she is motivated a lot by schadenfreude.
ReplyDeleteSNL was a boys club when Tina started, and she started out as a writer. I know she wrote in her memoir that sketches that she wrote that were a little more female forward in the beginning didn’t get understood by the males.

ReplyDeleteTina seems like a very petty person. She was the girl in high school who was invisible and she's not over it. Since she got to sit at the popular's kids' table, you'd think she'd let the past go, but people this insecure and petty always have a chip on their shoulder.

Also, it's totally stupid that Fey's reign over the show outlived her for nearly 13 years, as she left in 2006 (except for the 2008 elections, because of her resemblance with Sarah Palin). She became headwriter in 1999, and the Weekend Update co-anchor in 2000. Meanwhile, Adam Sandler was fired in 1995. So, there were four years before she was in a position of authority, then nearly 13 years after she left the show, during which Sandler didn't host. It's extremely dubious that anybody could have so much influence over who gets invited. Frankly, even Trump doesn't make as many questionable guesses over what happens behind the scenes at SNL...
As another guy had explained when the blind was originally published, it's a hundred times more likely that Lorne Michaels wasn't very happy when Sandler's film career took off. He produced a Chris Farley vehicle that flopped, but he was never involved with Happy Madison, which has brought hundreds of millions to Sandler over the years. It just takes one of them making an ill-advised comment for Michaels deciding not to invite him... or Sandler turning down all offers for decades. You don't need to involve Tina Fey and her evil female influence over the politics at SNL to understand why Sandler wasn't there.

ReplyDeleteTina Fey is a success in comedy. Obvs Sandler did or said something beyond douchey or worse to make her not want to be on stage with him. Totes get it. Sandler has a fairly bad rep with women in the biz. And he's become kinda a joke. Think he's on a mea culpa tour because of his multiple shout outs to the "wife and kids" to showcase what a wholesome family man he is now. His flick FUNNY PEOPLE was spot on about who he was. Maybe he's finally gonna grow up.

ReplyDelete#1 reason why it doesn't make sense is that Fey and Chris Rock have enjoyed a working relationship over the years. Rock and Sandler are great friends, which many know already. Apparently Fey didn't ask Rock to pick a side...
