Blind Items Revealed #5

May 3, 2019

It is not so much that the members of this alliterate misspelled 90's band have made up with each other as much as they both really would like the money to be gained from touring. One of the members thinks she can do a two fer and really rack up the bucks.

Shakespears Sister/Siobhan Fahey ("Bananarama")

  6. None of Bananarama have worked very consistently for the past 25 years. If any of them were hard up for money, they'd certainly have done a lot more touring than they have. I think Cruel Summer royalties have paid a lot better than we realize.

Also, Shakespears Sister only have 14 tour dates announced thus far, and the Bananarama reunion tour only did a month in the UK, 4 US dates and a couple of scattered shows after that. Neither of those come across as money grabs. They could easily fill their schedule with casino dates if they really wanted to.

  7. I love Cruel Summer, I used to have a tape that had Cruel Summer followed by Will Smith's Summertime.

    Summer Summer Summer-tiiiiiiiiimeee...

    Goddamn that's some good music.

  9. The punk rock girl group, literally created in the sex pistols rehearsal studio and got their recording contract via them. They also co-wrote most of their hits so aren't lacking money. 'Cruel summer' is a killer tune.

  10. Didn't one of the original Bananarammer's die not to long ago?

  11. No, all of Bananarama are alive and well. They reunited for a tour in 2017.

  12. For those who don't know, Bananarama were an 80's band, all female (3) who had a few big hits. "Cruel Summer" being one. People who were at that age in the 80's all should know who they are.

Siobhan was married (then later divorced) to Dave Stewart in the Eurythmics (HUGE band in the 80's, Thompson Twins level, almost Duran Duran), so she shouldn't be too hard up since he should be mega rich, but who knows.

  13. Another member of Bananarama is married to Andrew Ridgely, the OTHER guy in WHAM!
