Today's Blind Items - The Yukon

It is that time of the year. The time of the year when celebrities and some wealthy people, but mostly celebrities who like to hunt do so in the middle of nowhere. The owner of a huge swath of land in northern Canada has a celebrity obsession. The owner also likes to hunt and does their best to attract celebrities. The main way is by paying them to come. The owner also promises them an opportunity at hunting animals that are out of season and that they would never have the time to hunt for with their schedules. This A list country singer who also does a little reality has been there several times. This A+ list mostly movie actor who does a lot of action movies has also been there. All of it is kept fairly hush hush. The thing is though this owner has a private jet and when you see it in Vancouver, chances are good it is picking up a celebrity who uses the city as an excuse for acting or singing before heading up to the Yukon for a night or two. There are some wealthy people who the owner allows to hunt, but for the most part the owner just has a thing for celebrities. Did I mention that the owner can also arrange companionship? Yeah. There is a married B list actor from a hit almost network show who doesn't even hunt but wanted to make sure his celebrity wife didn't catch him cheating. So, he went up to this lodge for a couple of days and the owner even paid for all of it.

This former A list athlete turned A list multiple show host has been a half dozen times and even though he has a girlfriend, the owner always makes sure there is someone for the athlete to have fun with after hunting. This long long time A/A- list mostly movie actor all of you know who has been acting since he was a teen has been going to this lodge for at least two decades. He has a family filled with celebrities. It is not just male celebrities. This former A list mostly television actress who really only succeeded with one television show in her career but made the fame last is someone all of you know. Her former co-star has been in the news a lot. Our actress used to go once a year but since marrying her husband, he has his own illegal place in a different country for them to go hunting.

  10. The ultimate hunting adventure would be man vs. Khloe Kardashian.

  13. Action star is Chris Pratt. Big time hunter.

Actress with one show and co-star in trouble is Eva Longoria. She grew upon on a farm and is an avid hunter.

  14. I'm sorry, but I'm more likely to give a give a kidney to a salamander than a fuck about this blind.

  15. Blake, Kurt and Strahan are my only guesses - not sure on the actress.

  19. Canada has enough wild game to spare I would think. This blind isn't so bad. Personally I'd rather starve or go naked than kill an animal but I know plenty of people who have enjoyed it over the years.

  20. Who's the owner? Big game hunting is really pricey. Like Eric and Don Jr. Trump pricey.
There's so much filming in Vancouver, it's pretty much anyone who's famous who goes there. I'm sure many of them lie to their spouses about coming home for the weekend. It's a roadshow after all.
I looked up some lodges in the Yukon, a few look like float plane access only. And the game they hunt are huge.
I bet there's a similar blind out there for the four star fishing lodges in BC too.

  21. @jon I agree. It's weird. The owner likes celebs *so* much he pays them and hires women to attract them to his hunting grounds. So weird.

  22. Great guesses! I agree with Shelton (would he be a "little" reality tho? Maybe Luke Bryan?, Strahan, Kurt Russell...like the eva longoria guess, too!

Im not a hunting fan, but am really bothered by the Off-season aspect.

  23. @Notagood, Some people pay celebs for sex, others pay them to pretend to be their friends.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rosie, my husband is a hunter. Off seasons are in place so the animals aren't hunted to near-extinction. Proper hunters respect that.

Forget naming the celebrities, name the a-hole lodge owner. He would face some rather hefty fines and might go out of business.

  26. I was reading about Mustique, and how the resort founder Tennant, created an enclave for celebrities willing to pay extra for privacy. And the real money is with the follower jet who want to be seen sharing their lifestyle.
Hunting/fishing guides are pretty careful about conservation. They're breaking the law mind you, hunting out of season is poaching and grounds to lose their government land tenure. It only takes one idiot to post on instagram to make news.
I'm ok with hunting if you eat what you kill, but I'm not down with killing grizzley bears, or wolves.

  27. This blind is very disturbing. The reason there's no hunting this time of year is because animals are pregnant or have young. If they kill the parents they wipe out the family. Sick bastards. And no, there is not vast amounts of game left in Canada because of assholes like this, and habitat destruction. I hope these bastards are exposed and charged big.

  29. Unless for sustenance, hunting is f*cking lame. It's mostly an excuse to get drunk or high and play with guns. Or to ditch the wife. Some guys just have an annual "hunting" trip, yet always wind up at the beach instead of the forest. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Disgusting entitled celebrities hunting out of season and trophy hunting. Expose them all. Shelton, Strahan, Russell, Longoria, etc. Wasteful, selfish scum

  31. brayson wrong again. it's an excellent hobby, builds skills w/ both firearms and bows, and gets people outside. In addition, game meat is incredibly good for you. I miss Cail Corishev, he likely would've typed something like this so I wouldn't have to.

hunting and fishing teach patience, preparedness and the sustainability of the environment. the hunters in my family love to be outdoors. illegal hunting of animals out of season is heavily frowned upon, but making laws and enforcing them are two different things. This does not excuse the behavior obviously, but I assume part of the benefit of owning massive acreage in the middle of nowhere is the man can't really tell you what to do.

the guesses here are great, well done everyone. So no own has to google, Eva is married to Jose Baston, a big wig at some mexican television production company. Can only assume he got big programming 'sabado gigante' until someone corrects me.

  32. @DCThrow, Yeah I grew up with hunters and fishermen, never thought twice about pulling a trigger for fun, pulling fish out of the water just to throw them back and loved my compound bow. Then I hit middle school and started wondering why we had to kill or harm all these animals that weren't bothering us just to have fun or be outside? We could go to the range or just go hiking. And game meat doesn't taste better than anything you buy at the store.

If an animal population needs to be controlled or it's causing problems, that's one thing. But just killing for kicks is lame. If you want to go outdoors just go camping. Which is pretty lame too, just get a cabin and stop pretending you're homeless. ;)

  33. I thought of Grant Gustin for the almost network actor.

  34. Meh, this doesn't bother me as much as when people are being terrible to other humans. However, it IS illegal, so that's not good.

  35. anybody else think the resort owner gets these celebs to come up and they secretly film them doing naughty things while in the resort?

  36. Daniel Craig really, really likes shooting the most high power guns as a hobby, but I dunno if he hunts as well.

John Rich is an A list Singer/reality show guy who hunts.

Blake Shelton, Russell Crowe, Candace Cameron's hubby, Mark Consuelos, Chris Pratt...

  37. Brayson87 it is obvious you have never had a wild turkey. The flavor difference between a farm-raised turke yand a wild turkey is miles wide. I don’t eat any game meat except for that. I don’t eat pets. I have had deer and ducks as pets. I got so grossed out by cleaning pheasant and quail that I couldn’t eat it. Now bring me a five gallon bucket of dry-packed scallops and all bets are off.

  38. Luke Bryan is a big hunter. I could see it being him. He is on hunting shows with Jason Aldean all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I hate hunting personally, but you could not believe the damage from an overpopulation of rabbits. Hunting out of season or on the sly is absolutely wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Please if someone has ANY info, please pm me. I am in animal protection. And in light of our serious impending environmental collapse, hunting of any kind is staggeringly entitled and just plain asshole

  41. I thing the A+ list actor is Chris Pratt. He has posted pics of himself hunting...

  42. Actor seems like Chris Pratt to me.

I don't get hunting unless it's to cull overpopulated animals. It should be open season all year on wild pigs, pythons and nutria.

  44. I think the A list long, long time actor who's been acting since his teens and has actors in his family is Charlie Sheen.

    The rumors would soon stop.

  48. the A+ list action actor is def Chris Pratt. He's a big hunter.

    ReplyDelete
  49. What kind of hunting are we talking about? Humans? Could be.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @brayson

hunting requires you to actually kill the animal you eat.

unless you're a vegetarian, you're basically saying I'm a pussy who is too squeamish to accept that meat requires death.

Instead of animals bwing able to roam freely as God/Nature intends, we create massive factory farm prisons that damage the environment and reduce the nutritional content.

It's fine if you don't want to hunt, but to disparage hunters and the hunting community as violent drunks, is totally untrue.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I mentioned this blind to my husband. He firmly believes some officials are paid to look away. He also wondered if some of the missing indigenous women had dealings with the lodge owner.

Brayson, trust me there are more hunters who take it seriously than not.

    ReplyDelete
  52. As long as you eat what you kill and you're not hunting endangered animals, hunting is no worse than eating meat from the grocery store. And infidelity is immoral but some of you in this thread are acting like they're comitting genocide here, lol. As far as scandals go, this is pretty tame.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Is this real hunting where you track game through a forest or is it Dick Cheney petting zoo hunting??? The out of season part pisses me off too. I saw a video a few years ago where a man "hunted" down a bear that was chained to a post. Made me want to do the same to him. MF!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I don't see Kurt Russell doing this. He seems like a by the book kind of guy, I don't buy him hunting off season. He is someone who would understand why that is so bad and not likely to do it. The other guesses sound plausible though.
