Today's Blind Items - The Harvey Of Music

I have told you a lot of very bad things about the recording industry. Is there a Harvey of it though? The mogul was pretty awful, but I'm talking about someone who is a little lower level. Someone who has done the producing of records and been in charge of a label. A guy, who with a permanent A+ lister made a huge deal with a big company. That company only found out after the fact that they made a deal with a Harvey and have been sweating it ever since. He is a guy who loves to work. That is what he says. He would have a lot more free time if he would stop making fake records that will never get released just to keep having sex with the artists who think they will be released. They get a couple hours of studio time for every time they have sex with him. It is lousy production but no one cares, because everyone but the artist knows it won't be released.

He got married a few years back to try and stop all the rumors. It is strictly a money thing. She was coming off a bad breakup and was worried about finding someone and along came our guy. Now, he is permanently A++ list at what he does. The thing is though, it is all the things he does to others that have gone unpunished for so long. There was a time he was kicked out of a recording town not LA or NYC just because there were dozens of women who had made these fake records and also who had sex to get signed or they thought they were getting signed. No one wanted him in town any longer because he was giving the whole industry and bad reputation there.

  3. Mottola may be married too long to Thalia to fit this.

  4. This has to be Scooter Braun with the town being NAshville... aka Big Machine Records.

  5. Damn, RIP Rutger Hauer. Dream of electric sheep tonight!

  6. Jimmy Iovine, the streaming service he sold to Apple. They kept him on for a while, and held their breath. Liberty Ross for the rebound trophy wife. But I used to hear he was gay? Maybe a cover?

  7. Iovine has only working in LA or NYC since the 70's, what other town did he get kicked out of?

  8. Iovine. His Gheraldine Maxwell? Stevie Nicks.

    1. Why would you ever bring Stevie Nicks into such a conversation? She's never given anything but light and love to the world.

  11. I always wondered why Liberty married him. She could've done better. He's always looked super creepy.

  13. This is simple prostitution between a whore and a control freak. This is legal if the artist/prostitute was not intoxicated as a Minor during the transaction.

If said Minor (under 21 locally) was self medicated then free will was stolen and trafficked for personal gain. This is enslavement of a Minor which is the base line for Human Trafficking. At least for the purpose of sexual exploitation of a Minor with no lawful consent.
As for the sober under 21 crowd (over 17 here, YMMV) and self medicated adults, screw 'em. Voluntary servitude is a poor life choice requires a harsh punishment for corrective action. Like being a whore.
But never if a Minor was chemically enslaved during contractual "adult" obligations. Roofies, drugs and simple alcohol are the oldest form of enslavement known to civilized man. This is how most children and adults become enslaved to human traffickers. Even for a few hours, chemical enslavement is the theft of free will and the start of slavery. But only for the underaged druggies due to age of consent.

The loss of free will should never be cheapened like a two bit "adult" whore.
It's time to grow up as a species and protect our progeny.

  14. @politicallyincorrect Hoping your info on Stevie isn’t true. She was one of my ex BIL’s best friends. He helped produce some of her stuff for one of her albums. 🙁

  15. First thought was L.A. Reid, mostly because I still can’t believe that all he and Pebbles gave TLC were fucking Rav 4’s and they took all their money.
And that LA works with Babyface and Dallas Austin- both of whom are awful towards women, allegedly.

The other "town" would have to be Nashville.

A lot of the shenanigans in LA have moved to Nashville these days.

  17. Jimmy Iovine was married to Vicki for 20+ years. This blind reads as though the marriage to stop the rumors was a first marriage.

  18. Rip Rutger Hauer 😓

    Oh and co-sign Lovine

  19. @ freebird, I enjoyed the parts about her in the Irvine doc on Netflix, like when she tried to get into petty’s band and she slept with Irvine and got him (iirc) to get petty to give her one of his songs, which is then how she broke big. She seemed like a real ball buster, in charge of her own destiny kinda lady.

  20. Mutt Lange? He's pretty iconic in the industry as a producer/writer, and his own label was Zomba Records. I heard that they didn't like him in Nashville back in the day.

  21. I was thinking LA Reid, too, but not sure....someone who got kicked out of Atlanta?

Cant believe the number of musicians and producers/engineers, etc that would need to go along with this crap. Dang, at least give the gal a decent product after using her.

  22. Yes, RIP, Rutger Hauer.

  23. Darn this reads Jimmy Iovine.

Ryan Adams? He is not that influential. That’s why it’s amusing women think he could make or break a career.

  24. But in your small mind there's no other kinds but what you mentioned, are there?
    Also, you're an idiot

  25. Atlanta for the recording town, maybe?

  26. l.A.Reid or Scott Storch, all other responses have too much influence.

  27. No clue who but Seattle really hit home with me as the city

  28. Sounds like Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre/Apple music. Although calling him a lower level guy is not at all true. He's up there with David Geffen and Clive Davis in terms of status.
