Blind Item #12

This north of the border tennis player who once was the shiny new model everyone talked about, is now talking about retiring because the focus is no longer on her.

  1. Well it's not a real sport anyway right.

  2. Sounds like she's being passed around like a typical baseball bimbo:

  3. The easiest way to get the focus back is to practice, train and play tournament after tournament.

Is there another method whereby one can win millions of dollars playing tennis? I'm always keen to hear about new training methods that include relaxing on the couch and eating whatever you wish. I'm all ears.

Genie! It's time to cowboy-up and hit the court.

Bouchard and a guy named Con who is a relative of Derek Jeter's wife or girlfriend were just featured in a spread on TMZ frolicking and making out on the beach. It looked like an ad for "Couples Yachting" which makes sense as a thing. They could both probably retire in a couple of years with a nice nest egg. Con is a very handsome man.

  6. @ Brayson 87 Tennis is WAY harder than most sports. You need to RUN the whole match. Be serving TO or receiving. Running the whole time. No teammates. There is NO OFF SEASON as they play globally all year round and you lose your ranking if you take too much time off. You play on MANY surfaces from grass to clay to hardcourt in a MYRIAD of climates and time zone and it requires strength, endurance, precision. To say it isnt' a sport when it requires EVERY facet of athleticism and commitment is to be an a$$hole. Honestly. You could 'argue' in the days of McEnroe that regular sized folks and elitist rich kids played this sport but look at players now - all huge, towering, huge serves, post the Williams sisters. MAJOR athletes who could play football etc otherwise are NOW tennis players. In short, you're saying what you did makes you a moron!

  7. Completely agree with RJ, even if she only had two really good years in her she can still play.

Kind of off-topic, but did anyone see Andreescu posing with her US Open cup? She looked so high. I wonder if she got to partake NY's finest Columbian Marching Powder with Serena and Meghan.

  8. Oh kiki, I'm not talking about the physical exercise, it's a healthy and fun game, croquet or even table tennis is a sport in that regard. I mean actually having to watch that boring sh!t and try to remember the names of at least five players currently playing. It is a great summer camp activity, and something fun for couples to play with each other, before they get too old and switch to golf or pool. Just please don't make anyone watch that sh!t on TV or make them attend in person.

Let's get real for a second, real sports, professional sports, is about entertaining an audience. And the truth is that most people find reality tv and bowling more entertaining than your beloved sh!tty weekend hobby. Every facet of athleticism and commitment, who the f*ck are you kidding, are there a lot of injuries in tennis, concussions, broken bones, etc, what are they really putting on the line? Piss off, every argument you could make for tennis could be used for badminton.

Now beach volleyball, now that's a sport. ;)

  9. Hey man, I know you are just kidding, but some readers might take you seriously. I came close to going pro. I played all the other sports as well. Table tennis is about 10% as hard mentally. That’s really what tennis is, the hardest game mentally, except maybe when you are learning to ski, or when you are going down a slope you have no business being on.

There are no breaks. There isn’t much coaching in the moment. It’s just you on an island, shaking off those last couple of unforced errors, trying to focus on the next point, love the game!

  11. @ Brayson maybe YOU find it boring but as the broadcasting shows it is still an event to many. I find FOOTBALL a bore because you can't at all capture the full vigor on the small screen. Baseball is more a past time than a sport and yet I LOVE it, the whole visceral experience. Really, tennis is like CROQUET? again you insult a game that takes HUGE prowess and commitment, strength, speed, endurance. It IS a real sport. Go f-ing watch a match in person. Spout off whatever you want about your own personal yawn factor but there are plenty of fans everywhere or we wouldn't know top players names and see them or the sport covered.

INJURY dictates a sport? Really? Then I guess you love how broadcast RUGBY is. You a fan of Ultimate fighting, just that kind of sh*t. Golf, tennis, baseball, none involve full on bodily contact but they still get injured. So f-ing stupid.

  14. Goofy factoid about her family: Bouchard has a fraternal twin sister, Beatrice, who is six minutes older. She also has two younger siblings, sister Charlotte (born 1995) and brother William (born 1999).[145] She and her twin sister are named after Prince Andrew's daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice of York. Her sister Charlotte is named after Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Monégasque Princess Caroline and her then husband Stefano Casiraghi,[146] and William is named after Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
