Blind Items Revealed #1 - Mr. X

September 27, 2019

Which recently deceased country music legend's widow refused to let the king of documentary filmmakers use clips of her late husband for his latest docu-series unless she got paid for it. The filmmaker didn't cede to her demands and instead just used a stock clip of the singer and simply glossed over his accomplishments probably as a dig to the widow.

Glen Campbell/Ken Burns

  1. I get the use of the stock clip, but It’s a tad vindictive to gloss over Glen’s accomplishments.

Leave his family alone. Alzheimer's is heartbreaking.

  3. Truly. He was a pioneer who crossed over genres. The man was with the Wrecking Crew and they didn't even know he was a singer songwriter. A real professional.

  4. Probably his widow will work on a documentary of her own. Town's legacy was damaged by the cocaine/ Tanya Tucker era. It wasn't even that long.

    @guesser
I don't believe his legacy was damaged at all. He was a genius on guitar. Great live performer.

  9. @DarylsBigFan, maybe not to his long time fans, but ask a non country fan, they only think of his tabloid past and Rhinestone Cowboy. Like people only remember fat Vegas Elvis or weirdo pedo Michael Jackson.

  11. Just might have to bootleg another Burns burn. Thanks for the heads up.
As a dig to entrenched Pedophiles that run Pedowood and the DC Swamp.
This is why pinko commie homosexuals are all about redistribution. Yet normies call it Socialism if reality affects the pocketbook. Simply because other peoples money is not a consumers right to steal.
With love, ex-Consumer and now a Bootleg redistribution advocate.
    Socialism greatest success story!

  12. I heard he downplayed some of the musicians in the doc he made on JAZZ but couldn't find an answer on why. I guess if he doesn't like the source then he downplays any accomplishments they've made. Pity.

Why should Burns get to make money off someone else's property?

  14. Shame, it's on my 'to watch' list.

  15. Most doc film makers don't pay. Burns or PBS don't have to, Burns docs are the gold standard. This woman didn't know what she was doing & screwed herself & her hubs.

  17. I still prefer the old school History Channel shows, back when they actually had history shows. Wait why don't we have a la carte cable again?🤔

  18. All documentaries are subjective in one way or another. It is a shame that Glenn would be deprived of adequate representation in what is sure to be a widely viewed film due to a disagreement with his widow.

  19. This doc has been widely panned, so fret not Glen Campbell fans. Burns' cracks are showing.
