The A list everything in her mind didn't work for free. She took scale and a huge back end. If it had made zero dollars, it would have been working for very little money, but that is not what happened.
@Brayson -- The film "355" starring Jessica Chastain, Diane Kruger, Lupita Nyongo, Penelope Cruz, and others will be coming out in another year or so. A cast of women playing kick-ass spies. Hopefully no strippers...
good for her. just shows she believed in the project. it's a risk she felt was worth taking and clearly it was. she's also getting a little oscar buzz from critics (whether that'll turn into an actual nom is a different matter) so it might end up paying off in an even bigger way
@Meg, I'll need to see a trailer before I make a prediction. They could definitely do it right. Hopefully the director learned some valuable lessons from Dark Phoenix.
Charlie's Angel's would have taken $1bn dollars if they had only listened to my advice And included a strap-on scene. I'd have settled for a double dildo scene They listened to me over that for Requiem For A Dream and look what happened.
