ReplyDelete@Mooney, There is no reason to see rom coms in the theater, they're just as good at home on a widescreen. On a streamer, with someone you picked up at bar or ordered from Tinder.

Sometimes you can move the movie to another week sometimes you can't.

ReplyDeleteWhere's the great concern about Henry Goldings's career? Emma Thompson's career? This site has a special hate for Emilia. Of all the actresses in overhyped movies that have tanked, it's her career failure that gets highlighted here. The hostility is transparent.

Slightly confused....wasn't Emilia on social media implying how "empowered" she felt after that scorched earth episode aired where Danaerys appeared nekkid, badass and fiery? I realize she has implied that she had had mixed emotions toward the nude and sex scenes in the past, but I thought after that more recent scorchy dragon scene that she had turned a corner with regard to how she viewed nudity for GOT? Maybe I'm confused here. Never watched GOT myself, but read press regarding it. Did they ever show any meat sticks on that show, or was it just the women?

ReplyDelete@TeeHee were the meat sticks floppy and wilted, or had they "risen to the occasion"?? 😉🤭 Sucks the dangalang features in GOT were from extras only and not lead actors - it's high time this malarkey CHANGED. Lead actresses under 40 nowadays have no shot at an Oscar unless they go topless at minimum but the actors aren't subjected to that standard. NOT FAIR.

ReplyDeleteShe needs to do another series.... against type. Not an ensemble one note role. Play a cop, etc etc, THEN make the leap. She isn't as versatile as she hopes and maybe the drain of a series shot in exotic locales weighed on her choices but I don't see her being another Sandra Bullock or Anniston. Her appeal is specific. She should do a GILLIAN ANDERSON career like and cherry pick say a mini series she could and should pull off WHILE doing something indie film wise.

ReplyDeleteEnty seems prejudiced against Emilia, but that that might because of a personal grudge. Maybe she upset Enty or a friend/relative of Envy's. I think she is a good actress, and although she is probably never going to be A+, I think she will do well. Not everything an actor does is a hit, and it can have nothing to do with the actor. She is very popular in the UK, as a person as much as an actor.

ReplyDeleteI think @TeeHee@U is on to the Amanda Peet / Enty/ Emilia situation. The nudity issues might be part of this. And Emilia and Mamoa together on screen would help her film career.

ReplyDeleteI actually listened to her interview on Dax Shepherd's podcast. The way she described doing nude scenes was very misconstrued by the media. She wasn't really even complaining about it.
ReplyDeleteAt this point I'm convinced Emilia f*cked David Benioff and that's why we get all these hostile blinds about her. She was fresh out of drama school when she took this role after no one liked Tamzin Merchant in the infamous unaired pilot. Of course she was naive about how things work. The first chance she had to renew her contract she ad the no-nudity clause put in and I believe she only did nudity once after that - when she emerged unburnt from the temple of the Khals.
