Major props to JP though for calling out, I thought rather nicely, the hypocrisy of celebrities spouting off on global warming only to take a private jet an hour down the road. Leo did hug him when he JP won, but, I immediately thought Leo when JP mentioned this even though I am sure that most in the room were guilty.
But if it's true and about JP, it should be said that it was probably forced upon them. He grew up in that Children of God cult/church, so I'm sure he had many unwanted relations. I can give people a pass on being an asshole if they had a fucked up, abusive and stolen childhood. No one would come out normal from that.
Met River once-young-filming Running In Empty nearby. Super kind,extremely shy.. very similar to Joaquin when he emerged -and I do think they may be both cases of natural talent but definitely had demons that likely worked through (or escapes from) through acting. Arlene(mom) was a strange,socially akward woman. And very solicitous of them. Dad (John I think) too. Got the feeling it wasn’t the kinda “home” you’d wanna grow up in. All the credit to them surviving I think the Arquettes has a similar experience (raises in one or elements of one)
Poor boy. How did he deal with this? How much courage is needed to live with it and be media person. It is incredible how he became such a professional and kept his sanity. My respect for him only increases if this is all true.

I hate to say it, but a lot of the Phoenix kids problems sound like they stemmed from their parents choosing that loony cult over their well being! It's shocking they only lost one child to their demons, but they all sound like they could of benefited from family therpay after River passed. I'm sure his life since that event hasn't been easy, but no use being a jagoff to others just because u can!
