Blind Item #7 - Reader Blind

This Oscar winning/Oscar nominated formerly A+ now more like A/A- actor is increasingly known for his crazy outbursts onscreen.  His craziness increasingly also extends to offscreen as well. The problem is the various prescription and non-prescription drugs he is taking to boost his energy level as he has a grueling schedule which is due to his numerous obligations. It is disturbing that lately he has been taking substances given to him by friends who are pharma executives. These drugs are not on the market yet and have not even been approved by the FDA.

  6. Nic Cage is bats*** crazy? well colour me shocked. As a fan i don't care, as long as he keeps making movies as good as 'Mandy' I'll still love him.

  8. Joaquin? His parts have become increasingly crazy

  9. I was thinking Nicolas Cage too.

Not so sure Joaquin is known for offscreen outbursts, he seems rather controlled and subdued in his private life..

  10. So for certain, we have limited this to like....12 possibilities.

  11. @hunter

The blind says "crazy outbursts onscreen" I'm not aware of Cage having that sort of rep.

  12. Joaquin had a number of clashes with press after Joker where he wasnt playing ball. I thought it meant crazy as in erratic, or verbal, as opposed to violent

  13. Also JP is at the time of his game and A+ (Not A-) for sure at moment. Swept awards season (BAFTA) included...

  14. If the pharma companies are made aware, they can fire those executives. That is a HUGE no-no. What if the actor gave that drug to someone who works for the competition?

They need to be fired for a) stealing, and b) they could endanger the actor's life which would make the company liable, no?

  15. @shakey, Big pharma makes Hollywood producers look like choirboys. They deal with lawsuits every day, the cost of doing business. I really doubt they'd give two sh!ts, plus how is anyone going to prove that an unknown chemical caused specific problems? The average medical examiner wouldn't even know what to look for. And even if they did get snagged, they could just say the actor stole it from their briefcase at a dinner party.

  16. Al Pacino

Him falling down on red carpet last night at Baftas

  17. Pacino is permanent A+. Cage has been doing crazy outbursts on screen for 30 years, Pacino for 40 - so hardly "increasingly known" territory. Though Cage's recent films have him slipping down the gradepoint level...

  18. Joe Pesci.Obligations from the Irishman
Has mob ties and can get those drugs

  19. Speaking of borderline Oscar nominated actors, I'm surprised there hasn't been a blind yet about Jeremy Renner and Eiza Gonzalez (Hobbs & Shaw). The Daily Mail had photos of them posing together at the Super Bowl yesterday and said he appeared "starstruck" which is probably not strictly accurate.

  20. I thought this as Nicolas Cage, too. The many obligations line maybe connected to lots of jobs he was taking to pay debts?

Only other I can think of that might fit is Shia La Beouf? He had a really good year, though, with Peanut Butter Falcon and Honey Boy being well received.

  21. Nobody thinks maybe De Niro?

Actually it’s kind of scary how many possible candidates there are.

  22. +1 CJ, It's like get out the dartboard.

  23. Most of pharma has not been properly tested or vetted or prematurely rushed to market to squeeze every penny for the greedy batard pharma overlords. Despicable.

  24. “ The problem is the various prescription and non-prescription drugs he is taking to boost his energy level as he has a grueling schedule which is due to his numerous obligations.”

This is clearly someone who has been campaigning during awards season. That’s what this line is talking about. The rating makes me think it’s not Joaquin Phoenix bc he isn’t ‘a former A+ , now A- actor – his rating has been steady A for a while, imo - even back w/his Johnny Cash movie. So I am a bit stumped.

  25. obsessed: He was my first thought, too. My mom adored him and thought when he first began on TV and later in films he was incredibly gifted. Then he began sliding into some kind of madness and wasn't getting films any longer. Her best friend lived in Salt Lake City, Utah where they made DUmb & Dumber. She worked as a PA on the set. She spent hours telling mom how fabulous Jim was and how everyone who met him fell in love with him. She said Lauren Holly was the most exquisitely beautiful woman she had ever seen. So, long story short, something happened to him along the way. He is supposedly (just rumors) Bonzai Bonkers. Hope there's a second act for him. He is so talented.

  26. Umm, Joaquin is notorious for his off-screen craziness FYI. Remember his Letterman interview that got him banned and all the stupid shit he was doing off-screen during that period for some "art project"?

This very well could be him.

  27. “Numerous obligations” is Nic Cage’s debts

  28. Numerous obligations, as in, the flop house/hourly rate motel he owns as a means to record and blackmail bigwigs. That brilliant idea of Nic's has proved to be a boon around his neck.
