Blind Items Revealed #3

February 4, 2020

The A-/B+ list mostly movie actor can say what he wants, but he is revising history to say he didn't cost this back in the day A- list actress a role on a huge movie that people still love.

Ed Norton/Janeane Garofalo/"Fight Club"

  1. Garofalo was cool, but Helena Bonham Carter was the best Marla Singer possible.

  2. well good thing she wasn't in it

  3. I also have trouble seeing those Tyler/Marla sex scenes with Pitt banging Garofalo. I mean it's possible they would have chemistry, but eh.

  4. Why would Garofalo bring this up after so long except that her career is declining? Helena BC was the best Marla and no one else could have done what she did.

  5. If Ed had his way Courtney Love would have had the role. The director went with the strongest actress. Like in any job many people interview for the parts. I'm sure she thought she had it. But until you sign the contract you don't have anything.

  6. This is not a blind item, it was just a personal opinion, about a few recent statements, phrased as a blind item.

A real blind item would have been to share that Garofalo had been considered for the part of Marla in Fight Club and had been vetoed by Edward Norton. You just had 21 years to write this, and you just happen to post it days after Garofalo gave the interview.
    Now, that's "revising history"...

  7. I enjoyed the work Garafalo was doing then, but she would have been awful in Fight Club. Unless she was playing Bob.

  8. I can’t believe the love for garafaolo here. She makes my beer taste bad. No piece of cinema has ever been improved by her annoying schtick.

  9. I agree that, unfortunately for Garofalo, Marla needs to have some sex appeal.
