Blind Item #12

At lunch yesterday at a non Japanese restaurant that used to serve lunch in bento boxes. A permanent A list "singer."

Singer - I don't see the bento box
Waiter - We don't have that any longer
Singer - Can you show me where the bento box is
Waiter - We stopped that option some time ago
Singer - What is in the bento box again?
Waiter - What would you like in it?

They brought her food in a bento box.

  8. Jeff its typically a Japanese meal. It's in a rectangle tray separated into sections, usually five, you get your order in one, rice in another, a sushi roll in one and varied in the other two depending on the restauranr. My bento box comes with a soup and salad and all for less than $10. Not huge portions but good enough for lunch.

  11. Sometimes when I'm feeling exotic I pack my lunch for work in a bento.

The sad side of the daily office worker (though I do have my own office)

  12. I love bento boxes. And I’ve been known to do the same thing in restaurants when they take something off the menu that I like. (In places that I frequent.) ‘But what about the fettuccine with mushrooms? I don’t see that on the menu.’ ‘Yes. We discontinued that.’ ‘But, why? That was the best pasta on the menu. K (my BFF who is friends with the owner) & I always ordered it.’ They’ll usually find a way to accommodate me because they know me. I give Britney 👍 on this one. She got what she wanted, didn’t she?

  16. If the blind had said celeb instead of female singer I'd have guessed Joe Biden.

  17. No, it's not Joe Biden unless he threatens the server with a jabbing, shaking finger.

  18. The last time she was allowed out, they had them. So I give her a pass, and yes,she got what she wanted. And now I want one.

    1. That's so sad. (Not you wanting a bento box, but her being so controlled)

  20. Why so sad here....she ended up with a bento box. Sly like a fox.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Maybe she's so controlled that she's not allowed to eat foods that are touching, so she needs the box to separate them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. So they did bring her the damn bento box. Can I safely assume there was a Japanese restaurant nearby.

  27. Hi there,
Can someone provide me with some history about Brit. Is she crazy and is subsequently on medication which also makes her a bit crazy/erratic/slow?
Is this the basic situation or is there anything else?
