Blind Items Revealed #3

March 1, 2020

Usually statements apologizing for having to cancel tours are perfunctory and have no feeling. The foreign born former A list singer who may or may not be a replacement, is genuinely sad to cancel a huge leg of her tour because they were the only ones buying tickets. In the rest of the world, no one is really interested in seeing her and ticket sales reflect it.

  7. @sandybrook I was thinking the same thing. Now Madonna and Ciara cancel shows in lieu of the Coronavirus. Please, no one was going to show up anyways...

  9. Is a clone a replacement, if she's not a duplicate?

  10. Don't some of these tours have insurance, could coronavirus be used as a claim?

  11. People who read CDAN certainly wouldn't give Ciara the time of day. But she's on fire in every way, a show is the the least of her magic

  12. @Brayson: Interesting question as I know people were wondering whether travel insurance would cover CV since it’s a pandemic.

As far as tours, Pearl Jam just canceled the first portion of their tour (in the US). They wrote a very long post and it seems as though they’re devastated about canceling but see no choice. They’re working with managers and partners to reschedule the dates in the future. I think the difference here is that they’re a hugely popular band who sell out, so they’re doing this as a precaution, not as a way to cancel a tour due to lack of ticket sales. Same with Coachella.

  13. Sandybrook-- exactly-- all are going to be cancelled, one excuse, but some with a really big "Phew!" behind the scenes.

  14. @Aquagirl, Maybe a silver lining will be musicians spending more time writing new music since they can't tour.
