Four For Friday - A Twist

Last night, Julie Plec, who co-created The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies asked for some help with a mystery she has been trying to solve for years. I told her that you could probably figure it out in an hour.

Here is the situation.

The director of photography (DP) for the pilot episode of Felicity did an amazing job. It is far and above what you would normally see shot for television, and certainly better than a pilot being produced for a newborn struggling almost network could afford. The DP listed in the credits never shot anything prior to or after that episode. The name they used is also a Stephen King alias. Who is the person who shot it? There were some things put out there in a timeline, but they don't really ring true.

Here is the link to the timeline with some of those thoughts, but still no answers.

  1. Probably someone who was banging Keri Russell and did her the favor?

  2. Bryan Singer?
maybe a young male cast member was the motivation (Scott Speedman/?)

  3. welp that timeline sure was helpful.🙄 I cant find anything but cinematography of the pilots cast and crew and that name is Richard Fannin, with no other credits, so I've got no leads for you dearie.😥

  4. sounds like it was maybe an actual Director, posing as a DP? But its too vague

  5. Ron Howard produced felicity with jj abrams. Maybe him

  6. The only Stephen King alias I know is Richard Bachmann, cant find that one on IMDB

  7. I was thinking JJ Abrams, and then I actually saw his name as a creator so nevermind?

  8. Isn't Richard Fannin a character alias for Randall Flagg? It was in one of his books; maybe Enty meant alias of SK's arguably most famous recurring character?

    1. This has to be what was meant, but that doesn't help (me) at all.

It's even a rather obscure Randall Flagg reference. Apparently from the Wastelands, but I don't remember that. Quarantine reading list addition, I guess.

  9. Doesn't matter. The whole industry is about to implode with a scandal that will make the Weisntein fiasco look like a girls scout cookie theft. Fact.

  10. What do you mean, @Spider Rico?

    1. He means he has no clue.
      It's hope. Different from facts.

  11. Very good E! You are correct

  12. Maybe it was Richard Primes who actually took over after Fannin. He had extremely extensive credits going back 20 years before he did his Felicitys. Maybe he used the alias first because of the uncertainty of doing a pilot for a tiny network?

  23. J.J. Abrams. The lead in Felicity, Keri Russel, was also in J.J.s last Star Wars movie.
J.J. also is credited with directing the 1st & 2nd episodes of the 2nd season of Felicity.

    Feline City...

  24. Barry Sonnenfeld? Worked with Rob Reiner on Misery based on Steven King adaptation directed by Rob Reiner, a founder of Castle Rock. Also read that Barry and JJ Abrams met early on in the business. By the time Felicity came out, Sonnenfeld was taking a break from the industry, so maybe he just did Abrams a favor and wanted to remain anonymous.

  25. Spider is hinting about the fact that many warrants have been issued on many celebs.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Ellen, Madonna, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and no one knows wbere Oprah is.

I'm guessing this is another reason why CEOs like Musk are in hiding or have bailed on their positions.

Convenient so many CEOs have stepped down right when the private banks are folding.
Convenient the Elites need to be in lockdown right now too.

  26. My guess is Janusz Kamiński.
