Blind Items Revealed #4

April 3, 2020

The guest star of the almost network show, should have kept their mouth shut for the sake of their own career. That being said, they were 100% right. The writing of the show is trash and the showrunner is so busy with a million other things that they let it spiral out of control into nothing recognizable from what made it popular in the first place.

Sam Witwer/Riverdale

  1. Don't hire him as your guest star....
    Noted!

  2. Too many of today's writers are too inexperienced in life to write good stories. It's one of the reasons I don't watch tv anymore, other than buying 1970's dramas that I liked.

    1. I agree with you on the experience part.....
You develop a certain emotional depth with age!

  3. The only way to survive the show is watching it on mute.

  4. Witwer will always get Star Wars work if he wants to. His career will be just fine.

  5. I get that there is a distinction between thinking Riverdale is very poorly written/executed (now - it was good in season 1) and expressing it. I have to think that lots of industry people think the former, but expressing it crosses over into biting the hand that feeds you. (Fed you, in this case.) That said, Berlanti doesn't control everything and even if he holds a grudge, I'm sure Sam can get decent genre roles from showrunners who are indepedent of Berlanti or totally agree with what Sam said, and don't mind hiring him because they think their work is not bad like Riverdale, so they don't think Sam will do the same thing to them.

  6. I agree, Riverdale was good in season 1, now it's just a hodgepodge of bullshit.

Even my teenage kids think it's a heap of shit that's hard to follow and can't be bothered watching it anymore.

  7. I don't know but that show just looks like some polished-up imitation of reality trying really hard to make it look authentic. And the writing is written by someone who basically has zero life experience taking all their information from other entertainment trying really hard to rip off/pay homage to(not really sure which one it is) Twin Peaks, a show it doesn't even deserve to share a sentence with.

  8. Sam has had a career before Riverdale, and he will have one after. He was great on Being Human. Props to him for not being a sycophant.
