  4. Tastykakes. It's what Philly people eat.

  5. @sandybrook: The better question - Krimpets, or Tandykakes?

  6. I'm a tandykakes type of guy Moose

  7. Grew up with Little Debbie and only ate them because I'd get home hungry from school. Mom was the "eat this or eat nothing" type.

Never really liked snacks from either company.

  8. Little Debbie Star Crunch and I will fight you about it.

  9. Where's your picture Rosie? Didn't think so :)

  10. Since most of you have no idea what Moose and I are talking about tandykakes are peanut butter and chocolate cakes and krimpets are butterscotch sponge cakes

  11. Blech! Little Debbie was not a thing where I lived (California) when I was a kid, but Hostess Cupcakes, Ding Dongs and Ho Hos were. I thought the chocolate frosting tasted like wax. If I were forced to choose, I'd go for a Hostess cupcake with the artificial cream filling, but I would have to be desperate. Is Little Debbie a regional thing?

  12. I thought that Little Debbie bought out Hostess when they went bankrupt several years ago. They acquired the Hostess recipes and proceeded to ruin them. None of them taste good anymore.

  13. Both!! plus TastyKakes!!

  14. Screw either of those.. give me Drake's fudge covered Devil Dogs.

  15. One is deposited in the left ass, the other in the right ass, so neither.

  16. Little Debbie Swiss Miss Rolls (frozen)
    or
    Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies

  17. I grew up on Hostess, they're like a BMW to the Ford Pinto Little Debbies.

  18. I live in the South but still Tastykakes!!

  19. Hostess is best, with Drakes a close 2nd. Little Debbie stuff is cheap as hell but it all tastes the same.

  20. Hostess, bitch.

    Hostess Ding-Dong.

  21. Hostess... chocodiles, ding dongs and raspberry zingers were my faves growing up. Never had Little Debbie's.

  22. Hostess! Little Debbie tastes like plastic.

  23. Little Debbie. Nutty Bars and Oatmeal Pies were my faves. The only Hostess products I loved were Zingers and the apple pies. Any of them were a really shocking lunchbox/dessert treat!

  24. Little Debbie is a poor substitute for Hostess.

  25. Hostess, but the recipe seems to have changed as the cupcakes taste different now than when I was a kid. Also Pinguinos, the Mexican version!

  26. Nutty Bars alone make the case for Little Debbie. The rest is trash.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Drake 's is better than either for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ooh nutty bars but would like to eat ding dongs. Or suzi q.

  29. Hostess - hoho’s, ding dongs and susieQ’s
    Tastycake - Tandykakes

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hostess suzy Q's were the best!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hostess Ho-ho's, for the win!

    MUST. BE. REFRIGERATED. before eating

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hate both (grew up in the South so Little Debbie's was everywhere) but I do like Tastykakes when one of my bosses brought them back from Pennsylvania.

  33. We only got Hostess on special occasions. Those were fancy! Otherwise it was whatever Little Debbie's was on sale at the Piggly Wiggly.

  34. Foe me, Ding Dongs and, yes, must be refrigerated so the chocolate snaps and peels off, or Sno-Balls. My kids would shank you for a Star Crunch, Nutty Bar or Oatmeal Pie. The DH is a Tasty Kake aficionado and we have an outlet down the street from one of my properties.

  35. Oh definitely hostess.
Every day at lunch in Middle School (we called it junior high in Nj cira 1978) I had a Hostess Cherry Pie with the hot school lunch. The lunch was $1.00 and an additional .25 for the pie.
Sorry, I'm bored and high and my teenage son is no longer fascinated by stories of my childhood like he was when he was 4.

  36. Drake’s Funnybones. Little Debbie’s is way too sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Gross. I'll pass.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hostess Ho Ho’s

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hostess Cupcakes. I bought a box of the Little Debbie knockoffs and they were atrocious. Not just "not as good." Horrific. I threw the rest of them away. And I eat pretty much everything you put in front of me.

  40. Thank you Sandybrook. I've never shopped in the USA and I was wondering.

+1 Gator I grew up with Hostess. Little Debbie was always the budget snack line.

  42. @sandybrook Remember when butterscotch krimpets came in a wax wrapping?

  43. Both. Especially when stoned.
