Game of Thrones isn't so different from how things operate at the top level in the real world.  If you've ever seen a politician pictured with a CEO or other influential figures daughter, there's a story.  Women are very frequently used as bargaining chips for political marriages or to secure alliances.  This happens so frequently the names would be endless.  But just go look up the daughter of one mogul and see how she appears with every major figure on both sides of the political spectrum. And like others, she will probably make sure her own eventual daughter takes over her position.
