Word is her camp is quietly footing the bill for a late soul legend’s estate to go after a rising British songstress over alleged melodic similarities. The whole smear operation was carefully staged the moment whispers started circulating that the UK newcomer actually had the stronger shot. And wouldn’t you know it—said pop princess also slipped a lengthy “for your consideration” letter to the Academy just a couple of weeks ago.
