Four For Friday - The Show
There had been discourse around this long time basic cable show (#1) and its latest spooky season number (#2). Its not really about the season though. Everyone already knows the show should have been embalmed a long time ago. The actual fight is over the casting of this actor (#3). A lot of people are convinced the new lead is the showrunner's (#4) latest favorite plaything. How else does an actor with a thin IMDb page keep landing in the same empire? One job is a break. Two is a relationship with the room. A third starts looking like a house key. The muse should be careful though. The showrunner's Hollywood boy-toy carousel does not come with tenure. The plant actor (#5) got the gothic close-ups and then the quiet. The stone Mark Twain character (#6) got the prestige smirk and then the waitlist. The showrunner is very good at discovering a face. It is even better at finding the next one. There is a narrow escape hatch, and everyone in group knows the name on it: The actor (#7) with the long history and the long battle with his on again off again co-star (#8). Put out long enough and you might win an award. So yes, the series is tired. The writing is awful. The show has fallen into a Marvel crossover cosplay. The showrunner's shows are a carnival. They are also a trapdoor.
