Bernie Mac RIP

"The world just got a little less funny. He will be missed dearly." - George Clooney

"I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with Rhonda and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed." - Brad Pitt
"It goes without saying that Bernie was one of the preeminent comedians of our generation. He was also an attentive husband, a great father and loving grandfather. I feel blessed to have shared years of friendship with Bernie Mac, and I'm honored to have finally co-starred with him in what I consider to be his finest cinematic acting achievement. "My sincere prayer is that his family will be comforted by the warmth of love from all of us who knew and respected this man." -Samuel L. Jackson
"My working experiences with Bernie were so amazing, that from that point on, I wouldn't have cared if he called me in the middle of the night to come and be in a scene where I didn't have anything to do but sit in the background and eat cereal. I would've just done it because I loved him like that." - Niecy Nash

  2. I never really knew much about him as a stand-up comedian (and I have to admit that I didn't understand much of that clip), but I would like to recommend "Bad Santa", in case anyone hasn't seen it, which features one of his finest comedic performances if you ask me."Happy Kwanzaa!". That movie, incidentally, also features a fantastic performance by another late funnyman, John Ritter. It's good.

He wasn't old enough to go.

Right??? I saw a pic with all 3 of them on the news, and I thought the same thing. Damn! And Amy Winehouse is still alive? The hell?

  9. I thought about the Sam connection too. He may want to walk with care until that movie comes to light.

Bernie was the best of the comedians on the Kings of Comedy. He smoked the rest off the stage. This is really sad news. RIP

  11. I have sarcoidosis, and I can tell you that I am devastated, but not shocked by his passing.

Fortunately for me, I have been on a treatment protocol that does not involve any of the drugs he was taking that weakened his immune system to the point where he could not fight an opportunistic infection like pneumonia.

It makes me sad to see how ill-informed he was regarding his own medical treatment.

If anyone else out there has sarcoidosis, I urge you to take a look at bacteriality.com. The Marshall Protocol is saving my life.

  14. oh! and enty should have put up the BEST quote regarding mac which came from Chris Rock. Rock said something like " today we lost more than 12 people because when Bernie Mac was around he filled a room with his laughter and presence" or something like that. it was very moving and beautiful. r.i.p.

  15. "The Bernie Mac Show" was so great. It really was one of the best sitcoms ever. I'm sad that the Mac Man is gone.

  16. He was on my top three list of fave comedians (Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle) and seemed like a nice guy. Sad for us, so incredibly sad for his family. Very much loved, very much missed.

  18. He always made me laugh. I was sad to see he had passed away.

Bernie always struck me as being one of the more down to earth actor/comedians.

My heart felt sympathies and prayers go out to his family.

Enty, I kept checking your site this weekend thinking you'd have a nice tribute to Bernie. I knew you'd have nice things to say about Bernie (the quotes & pics count)
