ReplyDeleteMy first thought was JayZ and Beyonce. She is a superstar and from Texas. I honestly can't picture Beyonce being willing to be anyones servant, but oh well. My other thought was Tommy Motola and Thalia. Is she considered a superstar?
ReplyDeleteI think Beyonce comes off as being a lot more independent than she is. Thalia is from Mexico. Mexico is in the south but "southern" is a term that usually refers to an American.

Burt B and wife Jane for #2, def sounds like it. You can really only classify him as a songwriter. He might dabble in other things, but he's first and foremost a songwriter.

ReplyDeleteEdie Brickell and Paul Simon are interesting for the #2 guess. I don't know if he's bossy, but I've heard many times that Paul Simon believes himself to be incredibly precious as a talent and is very protective of his work; his ego is supposed to be staggering. I always thought of Edie as a hippie, but she might be very traditional in her personal relationships.

ReplyDeleteJerry Della Femina for the elderly hot spot owner. He's 72 or so, and owns Della Femina's in the Hamptons, and a green market, in East Hampton. He's a huge ad guy and writes a humor column in the Hamptons.
So #1 sounds like Burt Bacharach's wife Jane, who is tall, slim and blonde, and Jerry Della Femina.

Although I did find a guy named Joe Beninati who was interviewed by The New Yorker who's from the Bronx and went to Choate. But that's in CT, so I figured it's a non-guess.

1. It's a songwriter's wife -- not a singer/songwriter's wife. I like the Burt Bachrach guess.
