Marcia, Marcia, Marcia

You know what is really sad? The fact that I care if the Brady Bunch is going to reunite on Oprah. Even more sad is that Maureen McCormick is seeing this reunion in her mind and no one else is.

Maureen, who played Marcia Brady claimed on her blog that Oprah wanted to reunite The Brady Bunch and that the only holdout was Eve Plumb who played Jan.

"All of us said yes except for one person, Eve Plumb, who used to be my best friend but now apparently wants to distance herself from the show and, most troubling, from me. I have no idea why, unless she's mad at the joke I made a few years ago that we'd had a lesbian love affair. I made the crack to be funny - and for shock value. I'm sorry if she took offense."

Well the NY Post contacted Eve's people who said Oprah has never even called them and there is no feud.

Well, wanting to dig even deeper than the Post, I called some people who said that not only has Eve not heard from Oprah, but the rest of the cast has never heard from Oprah either. You know how you can verify that? If Adrianna Curry (Peter's wife) thought she had a chance to be on Oprah she would have yelled it from the rooftops. So, I don't know if Marcia (I like to call her that) was smoking something or just had this fantasy of walking out on Oprah's stage, but the whole thing is completely in Marcia's mind. Now of course that someone has started discussing it out loud, I'm sure that would change, but this seems more of a reunion for Bonnie Hunt and not Oprah.

As for the feud. There is a huge feud. The politically correct statement I got from one person said, "we don't know the extent of the feud." See, some wiggle room. That is one hell of an agent and probably deserves a raise for that particular piece of spin.

  1. This is the story
    Of a girl named Marcia
    Who was thinking up
    Bulls**t of her own
She wanted a spot on Oprah
And said she was all alone...

  2. Oh my gosh - I loved the Brady Bunch and now my kids love it. Thanks for reporting, ENT. :) Oh, and I loved the reveals on 7/4. YOU ROCK!

  3. Eve Plumb has always been the one who hated being affiliated with the show. Go figure.

  5. I actually think the Brady reunion is more of a Dr. Drew thing than an Oprah thing.

  6. I'm afraid I know waaaay too much about the Brady Bunch, having a four-year-old daughter who is into the series.

The cast has done many, many reunions over the years, including a "Brady Brides" special where Marcia and Jan got married and "The Bradys", a 'thirtysomething'-style drama series in the 90s when Marcia was an alcoholic, Peter had a gambling problem, etc.

Marcia has a book to push - probably the paperback edition, since the hardback came out awhile ago. Greg already published his book, a good one, and supposedly Cindy is working on a book about the "singing Bradys" comedy/variety specials in the 1970s, reportedly some of the worst programming very put on TV.

  7. Oh, and Jan Brady is a painter. If you search for "Eve Plumb", you'll get a website full of her not-terribly-impressive paintings.

I think Eve, quite sensibly, wants to move on with her life, considering that she's in her 50s now. She has participated in some of the earlier reunions, but not all of them.

  8. LOL @ Gladys!

So I'm not following--Marcia and Jan ARE or are NOT feuding?

  9. no, this is a dr. PHIL thing. he's already had marcia and her dad and brother on with THEIR feud.
bonnie wouldn't do a brady bunch reunion. i actually WATCH bonnie!

but, yeah, i see "dr." phil rubbing his greasy little hands together in delight and drooling over the thought of something like this. maybe in the "dr." phil house so jan and marcia can work out their problems over the week while on hidden camera. uh-huh. yeah.
although, it might be fun to see florence henderson and phil go head to head...

  10. The more crap I read about Marcia the more I think she's whacked.

  11. I interviewed Eve Plumb back in '93 for a story (yeah I'm old) and she was adamant about not discussing stuff regarding The Brady Bunch. So, that was quite a bit back and TBB hadn't been on for years. She's been wanting to move on for decades.

I think Maureen is desperately trying to drum up publicity. I feel bad for these old school TV stars. They really got screwed in typecasting.

  12. Maureen reminds me of my older sister. Only in our house it wasn't Marcia, Marcia, Marcia--it was Linda Linda Linda.

  13. Maureen was just opening her mouth about going on one date with MJ too the other day.
    Shes a pubwhore.

But seriously, I heartily dislike Adrianne. I agreed with her on most things until she said something along the lines of "Oh, your husband lost his job 2 weeks before your daughter had a stroke. You should put your kid up for adoption because you can't afford her medical bills and shes on medicaid" Thats not a direct quote, but she also went on to say that taxes are putting a gun to someones head to pay for people who can't/don't/won't work (or in this case, get fired and we couldn't afford COBRA. who can?)

I just thought she was a little eccentric, I've talked to her on many occasions on her talkshow, on the phone. Thought she was a pretty cool chick. But that shit PISSED me off. I haven't read her blog since, and I hate that shes from Joliet. Because my moms from there and we still have family there. Rawr.
    /rant.

I'm sorry. when you're a celeb, you shouldn't try to push your political agenda on your fans through your blog. And make personal attacks on a "fan".

  14. Eve Plumb you are an ungrateful witch. get over yourself already.

  15. @ Julie, Adrienne Curry acts like trailer trash. She's an embarrassment to the entire state of Illinois.

Eva Plumb has been very bitter about her role on the Brady Bunch for quite some time. I remember when she was on the Jenny Jones show many years ago and refused to discuss the Brady Bunch. Her anger was unreal. I don't know what's causing the anger but if you want your head bitten off just say Brady Bunch around her.

  16. Is Eve pissed because Greg wouldn't sleep with her?

  17. LOL Gladys!

I'm on the anti-Adrianna bus. Just let me know when Chris is fed up with her for good so I can go comfort him (childhood crush, sigh, just can't shake it!) ;-)

  18. Apparently it was Chris Knight that Jan was hot for, but it never worked out.

Greg had an affair with Marcia.

I really do know way too much about the Brady Bunch...and don't even get me started on I Love Lucy.

  19. Is Chris still with A. Curry? I thought she just did that as a 'gig'.

    ??

  20. This is WAY late, but holy f*ck...I have always thought Eve Plumb died of a drug overdose years ago!

Damn, where've I been all this time?

I guess I got her mixed up with Buffy or Jody or whichever else of those old child stars who died.

Sorry Eve, if you're out there!

  21. anyone else remember Eve Plumb in "Dawn, Portrait of a Teenage Runaway", or something like that?
She played a teen prostitute. Now I am really dating myself!

  22. I remember, lutefisk!

  23. Shakey, then you must remember "Alexander, the Other Side of Dawn".
    I wish I could find those somewhere--classic 70's made-for-tv movies.

  24. Ohhh - what was his name? Leigh McCloskey? Ba hahaha! Memories.

  25. If I were Eve Plumb I'd want to put the Brady Bunch far past me too. She's fiftysomething and trying to act that age, not trying to relive moments that happened to her when she was a teenager. God bless her for that. Also, I may be a bit defensive/biased because although I was an only child I identified with Jan Brady the most. I had a slightly older cousin who was the Marcia and I felt similarly overshadowed and all.
