Evangeline Lilly's LOST Theory

Evangeline Lilly gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly. Now that her hopefully one Kate centric show of the season is over, I think she would like some more attention focused on her so she gave her theory of Kate and how she sees her character on the show.

"My personal theory on it - Damon and Carlton haven't approved this theory, it's just mine - is that Kate has in her sole memory, actually gone through the three years that we've watched her do on the island and even her flash-forward stories. That all of that is in there somewhere - she just doesn't have a conscious memory of it. So what I'm doing is playing a woman who is constantly sort of in battle with herself. She added: "There are things within her that she knows and understands but she doesn't consciously recognize."

Huh? I am not sure where she is going with all of that. Her explanation is even more confusing than the show. My feeling is that you should just watch each episode and that at the end have enough trust that everything will become clear and we will get all the answers we have wanted.

  1. shes just trying to add complexity to a crap role. Kate is my LEAST favorite on the how. Everytime she come on screen theres a loud groan coming from my bf and I!

  2. I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with how this last season is going. Two episodes in, two of my questions have been answered.

And for the record, Kate is my least favourite character, too. A friend and I have a drinking game where we have to drink every time Kate says "I'm coming with you" or "I'm going after him" - it's more fun than just rolling our eyes.

  10. It sounds like she's trying to make it all about her. Like when Sawyer is crying over the loss of Juliet and Kate is crying...for herself.

  11. I've watched the show from the beginning and just re-watched it from the start in the last couple of weeks and still her theory makes no sense to me.

Thank goodness this theory hasn't been approved and set into motion.

  14. Baahh.. all the haters.... most (if not all) are probably females because never in their life have they looked as good as Evangeline. I've watched Lost since ep 1 and seems to me if you have a problem with "Kate", you should be criticizing the writers.

What a bunch of jealous shrews.

  15. Every time I see her I think of "Evangeline" by Matthew Sweet.

I think I get what she is saying...kind of makes sense with how this season is going, I guess.

I am NOT getting my hopes up that all the answers will be given.
