Would You Let Your 16 Year Old Do This? - Miley Cyrus Lap Dance

Yesterday Radar Online made it seem like Miley Cyrus had turned into a stripper for the 45 year old director of The Last Song. Photos that Adam Shankman had released last year of Miley dancing for him caused some distress, but then yesterday everyone learned there was a video. I don't know about you, but there is no way that I would let a 16 year old do this for a 45 year old man. Yes, he is gay, but she was giving the guy a lap dance in front of kids. You can see them in the video. Miley's parents weren't there, but even if they were they would have probably been clapping and getting Noah to join in too.

  1. Blech. No, I wouldn't let my 16 year old do this. I doubt I'd let her go that party if I weren't there.

But then, Miley's got the worst parents on the planet.

i keep trying to hold out by believing she's just slightly testing the waters of adulthood. but i guess she's as bad off as many claim. sad. in the not so distant future, lilo will have nothing on this one.

the director should have known better, but alas that's hollyweird.

  4. Sadly, a lot of teenagers dance like that today. No, I don't approve of the behavior and I would not allow my 16 year old daughter to do it. Especially not in front of children. But, it's the times we live in.

I don't want to comment on her parents because although I've never seen him do it. I'm sure my 18 year old has had this kind of "service" performed by some girl at somebody's party somewhere by now.

  5. SHE EARNS AN ADULT LIVING...HENCE SHE'S AN ADULT...
I CAN IMAGINE IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO TELL HER NO.

  6. I (thankfully) can't view this pic/video while at work, but just wanted to point out that Miley Cyrus is 17 and will in fact be 18 in 4 months time. Maybe still not age appropriate but she is hardly an innocent...

  7. I agree with RM, sadly this is the state of our teenagers today, you should see how they dance at parties when the parents aren't looking. They all want to grow up so fast trying to emulate rappers and video chicks, "sigh" and unfortunately this is our future.

I can't see the video at work either, but have seen a few stills from it. I understand she was 16 at the time she did this. The dancing itself does not shock me so much, I saw "Dirty Dancing" and loved it, and I used to love to dance like that myself. But the fact that she was doing it with a 44 year old man is appalling. Is she still claiming virginity?

  9. Just putting this out there - didn't many of us do *things* in our teen years that now make us cringe when we see teens doing it now? I'm just greatful there were no cell phones with video available when I was a teen. Back in the dark ages.

That said, she is a public personality and should be more aware of the consequences than the average teen.

    Or perhaps Celebrity Rehab?

  11. I'm more creeped out that this 45 year old man (gay or not) is dancing with her like this. Teenagers dance like this with each other all the time. Teenagers do NOT dance like this all the time with grown men.

  12. I don't think the wording is right in this post. "Letting" her do this, and letting her go out to a wrap party are two different things. My mom let me go out all the time, but she certainly wouldn't "let" me do lots of the things I did once I was out.

Miley is not the first, and won't be the last, 16 year old girl to act a fool in public. Thankfully, for most of us, our exploits weren't caught on tape and posted on the internet.

I'm no fan of Miley or her family, but this isn't sitting right with me.

  13. It's creepy because she's 17 and the man is 44/45 it doesn't matter if he's gay, she's still grinding against him. So yeah, teens and college girls dance like that but not all of them, and not with a 45 year old man.

  14. I'll be so glad when this little stinky twat is finally off the radar. Nice parenting job.

  15. ITA, JerseyGirl. And the fact that HE is the person releasing the photos just skeeves me beyond belief.

I also agree with mikey. Teens are meant to do really stupid things. But I do think for regular folk such as all of us, the teens doing stupid things are with other teens doing stupid things and trying to hide it from parents. Miley is clearly with adults who seem to be supporting her behavior. So, I'm more appalled at the adults, actually. This whole scene is nauseating.

  16. Not shocking considering lots of 16/17 year olds do the same thing. They go to clubs/bars, etc. and drink, smoke and dance pervocatively. Not gonna blame the parents or her on this because lots of kids her age do the same thing. Its part of growing up. Hell I've seen kids younger doing worse, unfortunately it is the times we live in. The 45 year old man should have known better but considering it is Hollyweird it is most likely the norm out there.

  17. What if it was a 16 year old boy grinding on a 45 year old woman? Say, Justin Bieber all over a 45 year old woman? Just curious if anyone's opinions change.

I think this is disgusting but since this stars Miley the only surprise to me was that it wasn't a lot worse i.e. drugs/drink in hand/naked/etc.

  18. Miley is stupid and tacky. But I think it is even creepier and stupider of Shankman, who appears to have the judgnent of an overcooked noodle.

She has been treated as an adult by her parents and by other celebutards for such a long time now that any idea of childhood, innocence, etc. flew away a long time ago.

To her credit, I don't think she's particularly hypocritical. She doesn't sport a promise ring or tell her fans that they have to be virgins. In interviews she seems to be pretty honest about herself. She's even said she doesn't want to be a country star because they have to be 'perfect.'

To her discredit, she is nonetheless a talentless skank and she's probably got a big let-down coming when the world at large figures this out.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would be jsut as grossed out if it were a 16 year old boy and a 44 year woman.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't know why everyone is saying Shankman should have known better. Someone made a pretty detailed comment when Last Song came out about how Shankman uses his position to coerce actors (straight and gay) to have sex with him to keep their parts.

  21. It's definitely stupid and creepy, but she's had no boundaries for years now.

I did stupid things at that age too; who hasn't? But going public with it and flaunting it is awful. I would have gotten lecture upon lecture for weeks, maybe years, if MY mom caught me doing that on video. Just because "everyone" does it doesn't mean it's any less trashy or tacky. Have some respect for yourself, girls!

  22. LOL @ Sporky's comment;agreed.

I have read a post in which the writer named the place where this incident took place in Savannah; they wrote that their friend is is a waitress there. Supposed waitress said Skankarella was drunk and grinding on several other men as well. We'll never know if this is true, but do we really doubt it given her antics?

@ ChasingHeaven: I find Justin "We don't say 'German' in America" Bieber physically and mentally repulsive and wouldn't let him near me! I hope he's got a tiny shelf life.

  23. ok im not defending the hilly billy trailer trash, but when i was her age at high school dances this is what the kids did. i am even guilty of doing it, and embarrassed at that.

however, this little chipmunk is a (gag me) role model. and there were children there. she is disgusting.

i sense a spears/lohan sized spiral of doom in 4 years.

  24. Miley is trash. I'm sorry, that's how I feel. This is just going to get uglier as she rebels further. I'm telling you now - it's only a matter of time until the drug reports start leaking.

  25. Eww, the slow motion part is GROSS!

  26. Yeah...she really isn't any different than any girl her age...there are a lot of li'l skanklets out there that do this sort of thing because their daddies didn't love them enough or they mommies tried to be their best friends instead of parents. It's a sad state of affairs. However, I am more grossed out that the guy would partake in it. Gay or straight, it's really skeezy.

Now, as for Justin Bieber. Never had an opinion about him until I saw him on Oprah yesterday. He's a little sweetheart. His mom, although pretty young, seems to still be in charge and still parents him...I can't see him doing any public grinding in any near future. But when he turns 18, I might catch THE BIEBER FEVER! *LOL*

What the hell are you talking about, Harriet Hellfire?
Do you actually read your own posts before you click on the publish button? I haven't read such a ridiculous comment for quite some time.

She seems not to have any scruples. She knows perfectly well that she will be criticize and still she goes and does stupid stunts.

  31. Mooshiki, I was asking myself the same thing. The hallmark of this site is CDANers ability to be tolerant and respectful of each others opinions. Team Harriet here.

  32. i saw that as i clicked by tmz, and somebody actually made the excuse that since she was in georgia, she was actually legal. like that makes it any better.

it's just sort of oogy it all kinds of ways.

  33. this girl is gonna be hell on wheels. we're just getting a preview of what's to come....

  34. I'm with B.Bunny thinking it oogy.
He is an adult who's 45!! He should have stopped her grinding on him. Gay or straight he's suppose to act like an ADULT with at least one functioning brain cell.

P.S. Would Hollywood PLEASE stop giving this bimbette jobs and go find someone who has taken an acting class or at least can act their way out of a wet paper bag.
    Thank you.

  36. One of my issues is supposedly the person filming this was "offended" but it seems they weren't so "offended" to tape it and zoom in and then to turn around and SELL the tape as well. That sure was offended huh?
As far as what she was doing, it is sad to say what seems to be what teens seem to think is dancing anymore.

  37. I had a job a while back with a number of younger people involved and found a group of them (age range from 21 up to about 40) who sometimes went out in a group after work (second shift.) I was invited along, and while at some local bar, one of the youngsters, thinking it was funny, I guess, came up to me drunkenly and said, "I wanna dance with you!" My reaction was "Uh, well, gee, I don't know...." and the next thing I knew, she had turned her back to me and was grinding her ass in my crotch full force. I was shocked! I said, "Stop that!" and eased away as a bunch of people erupted in laughter at my discomfort. The age difference was bad enough, but the blatant bump-and-grind I found really embarrasing. Apparently this is considered dancing these days. As Jackie Childs would say: "Lewd, lascivious, salacious, outrageous!"

  38. Sorry, I just don't see the big deal. She's just emulating all the MTV videos she's seen. The guy she's doing it with is openly gay and a good friend of hers, so it's not really sexual at all. I did something very similar in clubs with my gay friends in the 80s/90s. No big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Mooshki:

I just find it ridiculous to assume that girls dance like that because their fathers didn't love them enough or that their mothers want to be their friends rather than their mothers.
Not everyone Miley's age who does what she did in that video (which are absolutely in the norm to do while experiencing puberty) has bad parents.

Also, I'm disturbed by the use of misogynistic terms when it comes to Miley. Skanklet? Twat? Really?

The hallmark of this site is CDANers ability to be tolerant and respectful of each others opinions.

Yeah, I can witness that kind of tolerance and respect everytime when someone on here dares to criticize Enty.

    Team Harriet here.

Team Harriet? Is this junior high school? How old are you?

Btw, you aren't tolerating and respecting my opinion either but instead feel the need to ridicule it with your superfluous passive-aggressive comment.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Dawn's comment wins.

Mina, if we were talking about a stranger, you'd have a point, but this is Miley Cyrus. Our opinion of her behavior is colored by all the other things we know she's done. And by her parents' past behavior.

I get so tired of saying this, but there's a difference between "criticizing" Enty and attacking him. Most of us who love Enty to death have criticized him on multiple occasions when we don't agree with him. It's the aggressive attacks on him that upset me, not ordinary criticism.

"Team xxx" is an internet meme. Yes, it probably came from junior high students, but it is a fun phrase to express support. What you said to Harriet was not just expressing your opinion, it was snotty and condescending. Snotty and condescending statements should be saved for the celebs, not for each other.

A little late but if I may chime in on the above - I don't see anywhere where you actually expressed an opinion of any sort until the end, Mina. All you did was denigrate another poster. If you wanted to take the opposite position, by all means, but you didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Mooshki:

That's exactly what made me so upset about Harriet Hellfire's comment. She wasn't only talking about Miley. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered to comment on her post.

You actually got tired of saying something in vain because I wasn't talking about attacks towards Enty but justified criticism. I don't think that only people who love Enty to death should be allowed to criticize him. After all, this is a celebritiy gossip blog and not a fansite for Enty! I think that hysterical fangirls who tend to gang up on people who dare to criticize him are actually doing him a disservice rather than helping him gain more readers and commenters, respectively.

I know the Team whatever expression and find it incredibly immature and also quite inciting to gang up on a person because you don't agree with their opinion. Hey, I don't like what that person said. I'm team whatstheirface! Who else is with me? Typical school bully behavior to me.
We're not in junior high here and I think that people on this blog are mature enough to support themselves when they're having a disagreement with another and don't need a supporting team cheering them on.

My statement might have been condescending and after thinking about it I could have worded it better but still it was a comment towards Harriet and actually if someone was to call me out on it it should be her and not her cheerleaders.

    @RocketQueen:

I have to disagree with you here. You may not like my opinion but it was still an opinion!

Mina, sorry for that last catty comment. I was trying to be funny, but it just came off super-snotty. Truth is, I was a lot more disgusted with myself for getting drawn into this same old argument again. I never learn.
