BuzzFoto Blind Item

This A list actress with an Oscar or two is married with kids and still working, although by Hollywood standards she is “old.” She has been desperately trying to stave off menopause with a combination of Chinese herbs she purchases secretly in downtown LA. She’s so scared of ‘the change’ that she’s now seeing a spiritualist that is giving her tips from beyond the grave about holding on to her youth.

  4. Possibly Elizabeth Taylor?

  5. Well I hope she shares that great advice.

  6. Sounds more like Julia. New Mexico is close enough and she's into "natural" health.

  7. Annette? That doesn't sound right that she'd be that way, but just throwing it out there.

  8. Nicole Kidamn has homes in L.A., New York and Nashville. God knows where else. She's a little young for menopause though.

  9. Who's got multiple Oscars except Meryl Streep?

  10. That was a joke. I've got Liz on the brain as I prep my ingredients for Chasen's Chili on Oscar Sunday.

  11. Wait, scratch that, she hasn't won any yet has she? Gah! Brain fart.

  12. Annete's never won.

  13. Helen Mirren is long past menopause, and is embracing her age, love that.

  14. Jodie Foster? 2 kids, 2 Oscars.

  15. It's gotta be someone in the mid-40s through early 50s, that's when most women start having pre-menopausal symptoms.

  16. I like the Streep guess.

  17. Catherine Zeta Jones and her unknown birthdate.

  18. CZT for the win! Good job Cheryl!

  21. It's tough to go by age 'cuz the big change can start, stop, and continue from 30's on.

Julia Roberts is a good guess, but CZJ is even better since it seems as though she's been trying to hang onto her 40's for the last 10 years.

For a real spiritual and natural remedy, I suggest a big bottle of St. John's Wart and an even bigger bottle of wine. Gotta love those night sweats.

  22. Julianne Moore. Age fits. Two kids. How many Oscars/noms?

  23. I forgot CZJ won an Oscar. So weird.

  24. califblondy - scrap the wine and start doing 3 8 oz. glasses of soy milk a day. No sweats and an amazing sex drive. Check it out. Shouldn't be a secret.

  25. __-__=__ - Soy milk, huh? I will have to give that a whirl. I think I like the wine idea better though. :)

This sounds like Samantha Jones from SATC.

  26. There are some bad guesses here.

First off...Menopause is scared SHITLESS of Catherine Zeta Jones! It's scared she's going to sue the pants off of it.

Second off, Nicole Kidman lives in Nasthville!

  27. I want to skip ahead to the no-period part of menopause. How do I do that? LOL

  28. Why do people think it's not possible for Nic to buy stuff in downtown LA? Because if her main base is Nashville (as it is), she wouldn't do it there. Nashville is a small, small town in regards to who does what there. Much more anonymous to get the stuff in LA, where she goes frequently.

  29. @nunaurbiz-get tied, that'll stop 'em . No, but I think it is CZJ for sure.

  30. nunaurbiz - to skip to the no-period part, talk to your doctor about getting an endometrial ablation. They remove the lining of the uterus, and for most women that means either very light periods (spotting) or no bleeding at all. You're home a few hours after the procedure. I can't say enough good things about it after getting mine.

  31. I am on the CZJ band wagon. She is looking rough lately.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd agree with the CZJ guess, but what are we doing with the whole "oscar or two" part of the clue? Doesn't she just have one?

    ReplyDelete
  33. If it's not CZJ I'd have guessed Geena Davis or Marlee Matlin. I'd throw in Helen Hunt and Holly Hunter too for your consideration, though I'm not certain either meet all of the specifications of the blind.

  34. I'm scared of menopause, too. I'll probably be willing to try anything to stop it, too. I really dread getting old, and to me, menopause is offically "old". Getting closer every day, and I am not aging without a fight.

  35. if you do some research on soy milk, you'll find that it's junk food. Full of sugar. Soy also has a lot of estrogen, which is NOT good for menopause.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm perimenopausal. I'm 40; it started when I was 37-38.

I think the age range for menopause onset is late 30s to 50.

These actresses are ridiculous. I know they cave to industry pressure, but embrace aging. Sheesh.

    ReplyDelete
  37. P. S. I could do without the night sweats and hot flashes from out of nowhere, but peri isn't that bad.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Actually, soy milk contains phytoestrogens, which mimic some of the effects of estrogen, but not estrogen itself. There's a lot of half-truths floating around about soy milk that I think the dairy industry enjoys very much. At the end of the day, do your own research about what is best for you.
